Power Rangers RPM - Episode 3 - "Rain"

Episode Summary:
The three Rangers bring Dillon to Dr. K who tells them about the bio suits (something about bio energy from the Earth), that they are covert. Dillon says yellow, red, and blue spandex is not covert. Dr. K gets testy about it being called spandex. Dillon and the three get through a tiff when Dillon does 'testing' in a sexy a-shirt (I refuse to call it an 'wife beater' because that is just not right to reinforce that stereotype). The tests are many but it get interesting by the end.

A new attack bot is brought out and it will go through the water supply of the city according to Venjix. Later, Summer shows Dillon the Terra Ventura-like city. She says that once his DNA is attached to the morpher, it is permanent. He is made to care, in the rain as it rains. He agrees to it, with one condition... Ziggy gets out and all the other criminals are mad and get madder wen they hear about the Rangers. He hugs Flynn. Scott asks why Dillon why he needs him and he says he can make Shadow Puppets. Dillon bonds with his morpher and the suit teleports on him. The other three transform. Ziggy eats popcorn and take a picture of the four.

Dr. K coughs "ahem." and Ziggy asks what is up with the Spandex and then has to scrub the floor as punishment. Dillon has his pocket watch and Scott asks if he sleeps with it, Dillon says he would if he slept. Dillon has a strange memory/dream (with a woman in it) that wakes him up, taking him to Ziggy, wanting out of the city--something about a gate that releases propane gas and he has to escape that the little space of time when there is no fire. Dillon hotwires Scott's red car and speeds out. The monster releases toxic fog in the morning and the Rangers notice Dillon has bolted. The Rangers face Grinders and the monster. The monster disappears.

The rangers run to the harbor as Dillon tries to escape the city. The Rangers are surrounded by Grinders. Why is there a harbor if there have imports or exports? And can't Dillon escape through the harbor? Or is it a fake harbor? The monster is big now. Blue performs a new PR attack and looses energy. Red and Yellow do attacks too and loose energy. Ziggy notices they are in trouble and wants Dillon to hear this--he rewires it. Dillon is about to go out and hears this and turns and stops. He comes to the rescue and drives around the Grinders. He flips out and transforms. Red threatens Black and he tells them to face the monster. They call their zords.

The monster and Megazord face off. He busts them through the bridge. Black fights the Grinders much like the Mighty Morphin White Ranger fought the Putties while the Thunder Megazord fought before them. The Megazord is pinned and some how are rescued (maybe during the commercial break!) and they pin the monster. Black finishes off the Grinders while the Megazord finish off the monster. Bubbles fly. Ziggy celebrates. Dillon takes off his helmet and says he will be fine. He cuts off communication and marches.

Review:
In the Go-Onger footage, the monster pins the Megazord in a cross-like position and Green and Black save them, but since Green is not in this episode, the Megazord magically saves itself and the bridge is tied after the commercial break. Other than that, pretty standard episode with funny moments. It also gives a backstory to the suits and this 'bio' energy. Still no clues to Dr. K and Dr. K is still referred to as a 'him' even though sounding like a woman. Scott is pretty annoying, standard foil for a character like Dillon.

Short-lived Power Ranger Poll

I made this poll before it was known that this will be the last season of Power Rangers. I made this in thought Shinkenger wouldn't be adapted. The results were strange, in that 38 out of 54 wanted Shinkenger to be adapted into Power Rangers. 37 of 63 wanted an original Power Rangers with no Super Sentai footage. 18 of 63 didn't care. Regardless (because the poll doesn't matter), in the end Shinkenger will not be adapted. And we might get an Animated Power Rangers. Thanks for voting!
