South Korea has Goseiger as 'Power Rangers Miracle Force'

As I've mentioned on this blog before, in South Korea they show the actual Japanese Super Sentai dubbed in Korean and rename it 'Power Rangers.' South Korea will air Tensou Sentai Goseiger as Power Rangers Miracle Force, replacing Power Rangers Jungle Force (Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger) this July. South Korea started dubbing Super Sentai as 'Power Rangers' with Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger in 2005 and aired it as Power Rangers Dino Thunder which continued till Engine Sentai Go-Onger dubbed as Power Rangers Engine Force. Samurai Sentai Shinkenger was skipped due to possible cultural issues and in some extent, South Korea's grudge towards Japan and instead aired Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger as Power Rangers Jungle Force. Power Rangers Miracle Force premieres this July 2011.

  1. That makes sense with their Anti-Samurai Policy, as they would not adapt Power Rangers Samurai either.

  2. if im not mistaken, they named gosei great as MIRACLE KING. so i assume we will see goseiknight as MIRACLEKNIGHT.

just asking if you know it. how they named the ranger? i mean how they call GoseiRed in korea?

  3. There was also Korean magiranger. The theme used the same melody, but in Korean. I don't know Korean, so assuming it's called mystic force, I'm going to improve part of the lyrics:

Go! Go! pow- pow- power rangers
    I-don't-know korean
Ok, alright, where are the lyrics?
    (I feel confused)

    Power rangers (mystic force!)

  4. i find it funny how the Koreans have a grudge with Japan and still translates everything Japan churns out. kinda conflicted there if you ask me.
for the Korean dubs how do they deal with episodes that have a very Japanese monster but the episodes important to the series?

  5. no idea. I assume you mean how they wear kimonos for new years or other Japanese traditions. I assume similar to here that if it isn't vital, it's skipped and if it is vital, I guess they got no choice.

  6. henshin0, the Magiranger Korean dub is called Power Rangers Magic Force.

Considering that before Abaranger, they were dubbing the US Power Rangers show (up to Wild Force, so they've had the same costumes and toyline twice!), I'm surprised robos don't get called Megazords.

It's notable of course that this is the first time Korea has done their show before Saban or Disney. The Korean SPD logo was based on the American one. Maybe it'll be the other way around for Goseiger, and the next season's PR logo will be similar to Miracle Force's?
