Hearts in Pink Rnagers' Visors

I decided to cover the heart-shape symbols in the Pink Rangers, they are the only rangers to have heart-shape visors. Hearts usually symbolize love, in most cultures. The history of the heart shape (since it doesn't really look like a human heart which it represents) harks back to silphium pod, which has been used since the 15th century as early data indicates, but probably earlier than that.

Momo Ranger (1975)
The first Pink ranger, from the first team ever, had a heart. It probably is a stereotypical symbol that are said that women like, or a symbol that through time has been tied to women. Most things that include little girls has heart symbols somewhere. She even had heart earrings.

Heart Queen (1977)
It is in her name and on her boot cuff, arm band, and cufflink, other than her visor.

Five Pink (1990)
13 years later, another Pink Ranger has a heart symbol.

Time Pink (Timeranger, 2000) / Pink Ranger (Time Force, 2001)
Ten years later, not only another Pink Ranger has a heart-shape visor, but is the first Pink Ranger leader.

Go-Kai Pink (Go-Kaiger 2011)
Eleven years later, another Ranger has a heart symbol (with the stylized lines below it), probably a homage to Momo Ranger, but she is the fifth.

Note: Pink Flash and Pteraranger kind of look like hearts but are not full hearts, the top of Pink Flash's visor kind of looks like a heart but is flat on bottom. And Pteraranger's round parts are way too oval to be considered a heart, even though it sort of reminds people of a heart.

  3. It's a Pteranodon head and wings which may made it look like one...but it is actually not one.

  4. PteraRanger's visor just reminds me of cute chibi eyes.

Just looking at the 1st 2 rangers makes me think of how great Sentai must have been when Ishimori was still in control of it. You know... without the giant robots (which are now starting to (appear in / ruin) Digimon...) (What is it with Japan and giant robots!?)

  5. The Japanese love their Giant Robos....

And giant Robot Digimon are not new. Indeed it all harkens back to 1999...So I wouldn't call it "now starting to appear in/ruin", especially because they do neither.

  6. Yeah but Shoutmon x(insert number here) looks so "sentai" with its primary colors, it makes me sick.

  7. Giant robots, RPG's... Japanese people are unique...

And about your post, there IS a hear on Flash pink, ptera ranger, dai pink (I keep forgetting her name...), CarPink, Hurricane Blue. It just that they don't have a "pointy" bottom.

And there are VERY CLEARLY hearts on AbareYellow, GekiYellow and GoseiPink.

  8. He doesn't complete that till he becomes X5 as Dorulumon is white/orange ( does that make him GekiChopper or DekaSwan ? ) as opposed to yellow Sparrowmon. Fittingly enough X5's helmet is stored on Sparrowmon' rear, just like with a lot Animal-based Sentai Robos, where the head/helmet is a flyer's rear aswell.

Maybe Lavender Ranger could do a thing about Sentai in connection with other Toei Series...

  9. The Heart Design on AbareYellow is once again due to the Pteranodon!

  10. Still, Shoutmon makes me think of sentai (except when he's just Shoutmon without an x, then he makes me think of Momotaros)

Previous giant robot digimon have reminded me more of gods with armor than robots, and Ballistamon looks so much like a toy robot that I can just see a small child carrying around, I can barely take him seriously.

  11. Actually all pink ranger's visor (except for a few)have a heart shape visor or a shape that have a slight resemblance to the heart shape. And if there's are no pink ranger in the team, the sole female ranger in that team will have the visor shape that resembles a heart.

1 thing to note that Pink's visor also always revolves in a circular or round curvy (w/out sharp edges) shape if the heart shape visor is not present.
