There are seven Riders active now, un-vented, so let's consider this the un-vented card. I didn't put Adam because it wouldn't fit or look good. So we got Adam/dragon Knight, Kit/Onyx, Len/Wing Knight, Chance/Torque, Price/Strike, Hunt/Axe, and Kase/Siren. This is from the point of Episode 35. There are six more Riders to be un-vented and they haven't been by Episode 38, but I have a picture of the original Ventaran Thrust [Above]--I thought it was Brad but it turned out to be a Ventaran by the jacket.Tuesday, December 1, 2009

Christmas in Super Sentai (1993 to now)
Even though Japan is a Buddhist country, Christmas has no religious meaning. What they did was import only the fun parts. Christmas in Japan has also developed into a romantic holiday for couples, a sort of Valentine's Day in December. Christmas cake, traditionally eaten on Christmas Eve, is simply a sponge cake, frosted with whipped cream and decorated with strawberries. Apparently Santa Claus lives on an island instead of the North Pole. I am only covering the series from 1993 to now. It's funny how Super Sentai has had more Christmas episodes than Power Rangers and it is not because Super Sentai is older, even within the years that were adapted into Power Rangers, Power Rangers have not adapted the Sentai Christmas episodes.
Gosei Sentai Dairanger (1993)At the end of Episode 44 of Dairanger, it is Christmas but it is not the main focus of the episode. The episode is about Kou, his mother and his twin Akomaru. Kou saves his mom but she dies alongside Akomaru. At the end of episode, Lin sees a mother with two sons and imagines it is Kou and his family, a 'what if' situation. She then shares a Christmas dinner with Kou.
Ninja Sentai Kakuranger (1994)
All the Kakuranger dress up like Santa Claus, rush into Santa land in an attempt to save Christmas.
Gekisou Sentai Carranger (1996)Not only there was a Christmas episode [episode 43], but also a Christmas song and album.
Denji Sentai Megaranger (1997)"We Won't Lose! The Decisive Battle is on Christmas Eve" Episode 43, Dr. Hinelar manages to put NejiRed. Miko went Christmas shopping, she couldn't speak--much like Cassie in Power Rangers in Space.
Kyukyu Sentai GoGo Five (1999)Matsuri buys a Christmas cake but wants Happy Birthday on it for herself, since her birthday is December 21st.
Mirai Sentai Timeranger (2000)
Christmas lasted about 3 episodes. In Episode 42, the Timeranger make a Christmas tree. At the end of the episode, Captain Ryuga comes in. In Episode 44, Tatsuya is made president of the company in place of his dad when he is sick and comes back to the old hangout to find the tree.

Hyaku Sentai Gaoranger (2001)
In a Christmas episode, he was the Suffering Org that disguise as a Christmas Org giving out presents, fool kids to turn children into a drink for Rasetsu.
This episode was not used for Wild Force.
Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger (2003)Reindeiasanta infect Mai and little kids with his virus to make them into Barmia Hai [Triptoids] on Christmas. Asuka save the day.
Mahou Sentai Magiranger (2005)
Episodes 41 and 42, the Ozu family had a traditional play they would do and dressed up as many American characters like reindeer, angel, Santa, snowmen, etc. Kai and Hikaru helped a friend make Christmas cake for her family's store. At the end, they made Hikaru dress like a Christmas tree. Smoky's head was translated on a Snowman doll. This is the episode where Snowjel 'fired' Hikaru and told him to follow Kai.
GoGo Sentai Boukenger (2006)The whole SGS organization was decking the hall, with a Christmas tree. Akashi encountered Eve, who claimed to be Santa. The villain used a Precious named Golem against the good guys. The episode dealt with believing.

Jyuken Sentai Gekiranger (2007)
This was the infamous episode where little white boy who had subtitles and Ken helped---he didn't like Christmas because his mom died in a car accident during then. Through this episode, we learned that Ken has lost his mother at a young age. Ken made a cool Christmas Tree attack that was edited for the episode "Meryl and the Monkeys" of Jungle Fury. He made an ice statue of the little boy's mom with SaiDain. Mele was more concerned about the love side of the holiday (as it is like Valentine's Day in Japan) and wanted a present for Rio.

Engine Sentai Go-Onger (2008)
Kireizuki destroyed Christmas, ruining the tree of the Go-Onger. Santa Claus actually existed in this episode (he was actually an old Japanese man), the Go-Onger helped him. Santa gave them the presents they always wanted and never got them.
I will updating this with the Shinkenger episode.

Power Rangers Christmas Specials or Episodes
UPDATED 12/25/18
Power Rangers Christmas
There have now been 10 prominent Christmas episodes or specials in total in Power Rangers. All from Saban.

MMPR Season 2
"Alpha's Magical Christmas"
It was a direct-to-VHS special, it wasn't really an episode. It was headlined by Alpha and was more about songs, it had Children teleporting into the Command Center and singing Christmas songs. It was released during Season 2. But the biggest anarochism is that it features Tommy as the Green Ranger and has clips of Aisha, Rocky, and Adam. Trini, Jason, and Zack are not in this special.
This pic is thanks to fan Rob C., he found it and sent it to me.

MMPR Season 3
"I'm Dreaming of a White Ranger"
Aired November 23, 1995
It was available on VHS and aired on TV, the Rangers had to save Santa from Rito, Zedd and Rita.
Power Rangers Zeo
"A Season to Remember"
Aired November 27, 1996
I loved this episode, not only there was conflict about ethnicity, Rocky mentioned his Mexican heritage again, we got our first Jewish character, and we got a glimpse of the future. Raymond, the computer expert and Adam's friend, turns out to be Jewish. The second Jewish character in Power Rangers history was SPD Ranger Bridge. Anyhoo, King Mondo made them all fight over their holiday customs. Tanya vouched for Kwanzaa, Raymond for Hankuah, Adam for Chinese traditions, Kat for Australian traditions, Rocky for Mexican traditions (a Pinata), and Tommy for the 'All-American way.' The episode ended with an elderly Tommy and Kat telling this story to their young grandson. The boy's big brother arrives, in red shirt and gets a call from his early-era Communicator with early-era MMPR ring.
Dino Thunder
"In Your Dreams"
Aired October 16, 2004

Dino Thunder
"In Your Dreams"
Aired October 16, 2004
Not technically a Christmas episode, it supposedly was set before Christmas, Connor had to go shopping with his mom and had a dream with a Christmas-inspired monster. It came from an actual Sentai Christmas episode.
Samurai
"Christmas Together, Friends Forever"
Aired 2011
The Rangers reflect on the past year and Christmas with a clip show. Emily writes to her sister and Mike gets a motorbike.
Super Samurai
"Stuck on Christmas"
Aired 2012
The Samurai Rangers get stuck in Mega Mode after fighting a monster (who wasn't in a Christmas episode in Sentai). Bulk and Skull hang out with Jii and get to meet the costumed Rangers. We get another clip show.
Megaforce
"The Robo Knight Before Christmas"
Aired 2013
Robo Knight gets shipped to Africa to tell kids stories of the Rangers that happen in the past (clip show). The new Saban era Christmas specials are mostly clip shows.
Dino Charge
"Here Comes Heximas"
Aired 2016
Takes place after the finale and it is even more confusing as time and history has changed and the Rangers still have their original memories and remincising about things that didn't actually occur. Also seeing Tyler as an evil elf was weird.
Ninja Steel
"Past, Presents and Future"
Aired 2017
Santa returns (and I guess he is the same guy in both dimensions?) and Sarah must go to the past to borrow the Ninja Stars to help the Rangers.
Super Ninja Steel
"The Poisy Show"
Aired 2018The "teamup" between Dino Charge and Ninja Steel. Koda (Yoshi Sodarso) and Preston (Peter Adrian Sodarso) are brothers in real life. When Poisandra and Sledge take over the Galaxy Warrior ship, the Rangers get their powers back and get the help from Koda to defeat them once and for all. The "Christmas" aspect is the monster having ice powers and makes them into snowmen.
Dino Charge
"Race to Rescue Christmas"
Aired 2015When Poisandra steals Santa's Naughty and Nice computer the Dino Charge Rangers must get it back. Also Chase struggles to get back home to his family. We see clips through the computer.

Movies inspired by the Power Rangers toy ficaso
For Christmas of 1993, Bandai America didn't anticipate the hype of Power Rangers or how popular it was going to be and only had a few factories, and had short supply in America at the time. I remember being in the lines at Toys R Us or Service Merchandise and people wanting for the Power Ranger toys or buying them super expensive. Some people would buy them and sell them more expensive, one gave me a business card, they were just scammers, I didn't buy anything off him. One day my mom and me went to one store and they only the Battle Bikes and we went back home. The next year, I remember there was a mob grabbing toys and one kid only got a red thunder bike and was sad.
Jingle All The Way came out in 1996, but was inspired in ways by the mania that was Tickle Me Elmo and Power Rangers. The toy the boy wanted from Arnold Schwarzenegger was Turbo Man, a cheaper parody version of Power Rangers. There were even some different colored critters as well.
Toy Story came out in 1995, I doubt they were specifically thinking about Power Rangers but one news article mentioned the Power Rangers and the christmas mania and their furtistic-look being similar to Buzz Lightyear and the movies' point of 'space toys' being more popular. In the sequel Toy Story 2, the Tour Guide Barbie mentioned that the toy producers of Buzz Lightyear were 'short-sighted' by making too few toys for Christmas, echoing the Bandai America fiasco.

Poll Results: Age of Average Blog Readers
don't be shy: What is your real age? So the average age, more or less, judging by a month this poll has been up, is ages 18 to 21.
Ages 18 to 21 -- 105 of 338 votes [31%]
Ages 13 to 17 -- 101 of 338 votes [29%]
Ages 22 to 25 -- 49 of 338 votes [14%]
Ages 10 to 12 -- 30 of 338 votes [8%]
Ages 26 to 30 -- 21 of 338 votes [6%]
Over 40 -- 18 of 338 votes [5%]
Ages 31 to 39 -- 9 of 338 votes [3%]
Ages Under 10 -- 5 of 338 votes [2%]
I am 27, so I am one of 21 that are between the ages of 26 to 30. Now, I put 'over 40' cause I knew there was going to be a few. There ended up being only 18. I was surprised there was only 9 votes for over 30, I guess I should have just put it as 'over 30' instead of 'over 40.' And it is no surprise that the Tokusatsu target audience of under 10 only reached 5. It could be that those under 10 didn't see the poll and didn't vote or isn't aware of the website. Most in the under 10 set just play games online, I know this because I am an elementary school substitute teacher currently. And when they are online, they just play games and so does my 7 year-old nephew.
And it is not surprise that the most that visit this site is from the ages of 13 to 21 because Power Rangers started 17 years ago and that target audience is 2 to 10. So when it started, most of these people grew up watching it. This is a very interesting poll. I like it. The over 30 set is not a surprise either because Super Sentai started about 34 years ago, so same thing as Power Rangers--they grew up with it.

Kamen Rider Dragon Knight: Back in Black Review
I had to review this episode, it was so father-trucking good!!! My insider friend has been telling for months that the last 10 episodes were kick butt and he was right. Spoilers below.
Basically Kit comes back but with the Onyx deck---which Eubulon gives him. He initially doesn't want to take it, because of his nightmares of him venting Kase and Len---which we get a long flashback of. So, the twist of Ryuki is that Kit is Onyx and Adam is dragon. When Kit returns to the base, Trent and him have a funny reunion--they don't know if to hug or shake hands. Len and Kase also have a happy reunion--no mention of she will get the Siren deck back yet. Price, Hunt, and Chance can't get over why everyone is scared of them.
Adam comes to save Maya and Kit comes in, we see the twins---very good double-screen effect, not cheesy at all. They did very well with the 'double' shoulders as well. Most times when they use an actor twice in two roles on television, we see too much shoulder of the 'stand-in' double. Here, we see veyr little, making it very fluid. And the scene was rather quick, leaving little time to the eye to dwell on the same actor playing dual roles. You can really believe they are two seperate people. Or maybe I am kissing too much butt. And in the end of the episode, Eubulon decides to give Adam the benefit of the doubt---leading to the next episode, should they trust Adam when Len and Kit clearly don't?
