New Go-buster Rumors

New Gobuster rumors from Dukemon22:

-Red's motif/partner is a Cheetah
-Blue's motif/partner is a Gorilla
-Yellow's motif/partner is a Rabbit

-It seems they are spies and will have spy-like arsenal like smartphones, cameras, etc.
-The forehead of the helmet has the face of the animal.
-The eyes of the helmet are sunglasses, similar to GokaiSilver in color.
-They look a little like Metal Heroes, maybe like DekaMaster (Shadow Ranger).

-There are Partner Robots, (Cheetah, Gorilla, Rabbit). Cheetah and Gorilla are person sized, and will be of the rubber-suit variety. Rabbit will be Bomper-esque in size.

-Red's Cheetah Robot can transform into a motorcycle.

- We might get photos by the end of November or as late as December 4th. Lavender Ranger likes the idea of a Rabbit.

Male Same-Sex Duos

Goraijers (Hurricanger - 2002) / Thunder Rangers (Ninja Storm - 2003)
Both brothers in both versions, both were additions to a main trio, they liked to be considered their own team. In Ninja Storm, the Thunder Rangers were more integrated and joined the team easily but in Hurricanger, they remained more to themselves. Rumors are that Disney and co. contemplated changing the gender for Navy Ranger, to make the team 'even' like they did with Yellow Rangers before to have two women, but in a some funny way it was made true in Gokaiger where Gokai Pink becomes Kuwagata Raijer and with a skirt.

Go-On Green and Go-On Black (Go-Onger - 2008) / Rangers Green and Black (RPM - 2009)
They didn't have a team name like the Goraijers, probably in anticipation for the Go-On Wings but they became part of the main team by episode 3, premiering in episode 2. In RPM, the focus was more on Ranger Black and Ranger Green was the comic relief. Dillon became Ranger Black in episode 3 and Ziggy joined in episode 4. I feel like the RPM two were more of a bromance duo, while the Go-Onger two were mostly with the five and most episodes didn't pair them togehter until the end to leave the trio alone.

Male and Female Hero Duos

DekaMaster and DekaSwan (Dekaranger - 2004) / Shadow Ranger and Kat Ranger (PRSPD - 2005)
Even though we didn't see them fight together, Doggie Kruger and Swan Shitori were quite close. They are paired together in Gokaiger. Deka Master/Shadow Ranger are considered Sixth Rangers but Deka Break/Omega Ranger were considered Sixth Rangers more than anything. In Gokaiger, Deka Master is considered an Extra Hero, he has had many toys after him. Deka Swan only appeared in 2 episodes and Kat Ranger in one episode.

Magi Mother and Wolzard Fire (Magiranger - 2005) / White Mystic Ranger and Wolf Warrior (PRMF - 2006)
First female-male duo but it wasn't instant to know, even though they both appeared in the first episode. They were married. In the first episode, the white one fought the purple one when he was evil. In Magiranger, Wolzard seemingly killed MagiMother. In Mystic Force, Koragg just de-powered Udonna by taking her staff. They both had figures and their own re-colored MagiPhones in Magiranger. In Mystic Force, only Koragg got figures and very little compared to his Japanese counterpart. Both have Gasphon Ranger Keys for Gokaiger. Of the Japanese figures, you can have Magi Mother and Wolzard Fire as a duo.

Rio and Mele (Gekiranger - 2007) / Dia Shi and Camile (PRJF - 2008)
There has been many other female-male villain duos, but in Gekiranger, they were they first to be seen as protagnists and later be allies. Mele/Camile was the first villainess to have a 'zord' that combined with good zords to become giant robos. Mele never got her own action figure during the run of Gekiranger, but she did get a special figure for Girls in Uniform. Camile did get an action figure for Jungle Fury called 'Melle.' Mele did get a Ranger Key from Gashapon. Of the American toys, you can have Dai Shi and Camile together as a duo.

Go-On Wings (Go-Onger - 2008) / Ranger Silver and Gold (RPM - 2009)
The first opposite-sex main duos that were 'sixth rangers', Go-On Silver and Go-On Gold are brother and sister. Silver got a figure during Go-Onger's run and RPM. In Gokaiger, Gai/GokaiSilver unites their two Ranger Keys into one key and becomes Go-On Wings, without a skirt (from Silver). From other Japanese and American collections, you can have toys of both duos.

The possibility of female lone Sixth Rangers

I might have touched this topic on before, but I can't really pinpoint which posts were more specific to this. This has sprouted out from a conversation about Gobusters in Rangerboard about a female sixth ranger. I will say this multiple times in this blog, that the topic of a female Sixth Ranger goes hand-in-hand with a female Red Ranger being the protagonist and the lead in Super Sentai or Power Rangers.

Closest to Sixth Ranger
Go-On Silver is part of 15 warriors that Gokai Silver uses for his armor Gold Mode, all those 15 warriors are Sixth Rangers. She was part of Go-On Wings and she shared the same arsenal as Go-On Gold and her zord--was male and came with Triptor, Go-On Gold was advertised the most and was the main focus. I think the only way to have a female sixth ranger, they had to have a male one with her.

The first female Extra Hero
It can be argued that White Racer from Carranger or Demon Hunter Jeanne were the first female Extra Heroes, but I consider them prototypes and since Deka Swan was counted in Gokaiger means she is more official and significant. I think Deka Swan is also a prototype for a female Sixth, while MagiMother or Go-On Silver might take that mantle more significantly. Deka Gold did appear first, but she only appeared for a few seconds. Deka Swan only appeared in 2 episodes, in 199 heroes and so far 2 episodes of Gokaiger, she had no figure and may or may not have a Gasphon Ranger Key.

Toy Store Owners
Many Super Sentai and Power Ranger fans might forget this but both series are mostly propelled by toy sales for boys (saving the argument that it is a series just to sell toys because I believe it is one factor, but one of many). When a Sentai producer was asked about a female Red Ranger back in 2007, he said it could happen but it depended on the toy stores. That toy store owners believe boys won't buy action figures of girls, or toys of a series lead by a girl. So toy shop owners won't hold products like that in their stores. We got our first female Red Ranger in Shinkenger, but Hime Shinken Red has the same uniform and arsenal as her counterpart and the only toys she got was after the series ended---Figuart and Gokaiger Ranger Key. I believe Sixth Rangers are made to sell in mid-way of the series and same reason they are all male, to attract boys. It unlikely boys would buy a robo for a lone female sixth ranger, hence what they did for Go-On Wings. Rumors is that Bandai America wanted to release the White Mystic Ranger in Wal-Mart, which was the number one toy seller at the time for PR and Wal-Mart refused, thinking boys didn't want it. That also goes with how there is very little female figures.

The Future
I believe Toei do want change and female Sixth Rangers and such, because then we wouldn't have White Racer, Demon Hunter Jeanne, Deka Bright, Deka Swan, Magi Mother, etc. but with all I said, there is little wiggle room. I think that is why we have had so many gender changes in Gokaiger (above with Mega Silver), because they can get away with it on the show. But notice, none of them have been made into figures. So what do I think of the future? Maybe far from now, we might get a female Sixth Ranger. But soon, I think the closest thing we might get is something like something like Magi Mother, but that appears in more episodes, a female sixth ranger that might not get a lot of toy stuff but is like a extra hero and stuff. But who knows? When MMPR started in 1993, I wanted a purple ranger and we didn't get one until 2007. Fans wanted a female Red ranger for years, SPD had one in 2005 but we got an official one in Sentai in 2009. So this stuff takes time, even if 14 or 4 years.
