BIG NEWS! Power Rangers Samurai REVEALED!

UPDATED TODAY AT 11:30 AM EST
Thanks to James Spiring for bringing this to my attention. The new Official Power Rangers website has put up the logo and new information. The story is as follows: A new generation of Power Rangers must master the mystical and ancient Samurai Symbols of Power which give them control over the elements of Fire, Water, Sky, Forest, and Earth. Under the guidance of their all-knowing mentor and the aid of their devoted animal Zords, they battle the dark forces of the Netherworld and a mysterious Warrior bent on destruction.

They did changed 'Wood' to 'Forest,' probably to make more sense in American terms. It isn't the correct kanji but since they established in the story that it is 'Samurai Symbols of Power,' they don't necessarily have to match the Kanji. I am hoping it is a typo that they wrote Netherword and I hope they don't pronounce it 'Neither-World' like in the Beetlejuice cartoon. The Variety article below states that this Samurai theme will go on for two years. Word is they are still filming in New Zealand. The lead villains' name is said to be Master Xandred.

I am holding my baby nephew Jaiden as I type this and they changed the Red Ranger's name from Reese to JAYDEN! Close enough, awesome.

Other name changes different from the casting call:
Baron - Kevin
Parry - Mike
Sadie - Mia
Ava - Emily

Variety Article

These are my past polls. Best Name for Shinkenger as Power Rangers? Samurai Strike won 187 of 215. Bad Name for Shinkenger as Power Rangers --- Samurai Star got 286 of 552 votes. Samurai Star, I got that from the zord of Ninja Storm.

THEY made an error.

Green Ranger's kanji 「木」 actually means "wood", not forest.

「森」 is the kanji for "forest".
