Representation of Colors in Power Ranger (Updated 2016)

I did this post back in 2011, the update is now in 2016. 

Red
Red usually represents aggression, love, negativity, passion, socialism, heat, fire, beauty, leadership, injury, danger, blood, and conservatism. Red is used as a symbol of courage and sacrifice, as in blood split in sacrifice or courage in the face of lethal danger. Red Rangers are usually Stalwart Leader, Reckless or Childish Leader, or young upstart. Recently Red Rangers have been reckless or childish, but there some that are serious and true like Scott and Jayden. Most Red Rangers have represented aggression, love, passion, heat, fire, and leadership, but rarely negativity, injury, danger and conservatism. Most of the time when a Red Ranger has an elemental power, it is to do with nature, Mystic Force and Samurai had to do with Fire. Troy of Megaforce was very stalwart and silent, we barley knew anything about him. Tyler of Dino Charge has been more like a kid, happy go-lucky, quick to get upset and as a leader, more like a buddy.

Green
Green usually represents nature, growth, hope, youth, sickness, health, spring, money, and envy. In many folklores and literature, green has traditionally been used to symbolize nature and its embodied attributes, namely those of life, fertility, and rebirth. Green Rangers usually represent nature, growth, hope, youth, health, and envy. Most Green Rangers are the comic relief, stubborn one, or the decent one. Ziggy, Bridge, and Joel are a few that represent comic relief. Most of the time when a Green Ranger has an elemental power, it is to do with nature, Mystic Force had Nature and Samurai had to do with Forest. Mike (Samurai) was impulsive and a prankster while Riley (Dino Charge) was a logical guy who liked puzzles.

Blue
Ice, water, sky, sadness, winter, royalty, boys, cold, calm, magic, and truth. In the English language, blue often represents the human emotion of sadness, e.g. "He was feeling blue". Most of the time when a Blue Ranger has an elemental power, it is to do with nature, Mystic Force and Samurai had to do with Water. Most Blue Rangers are the calm one, sometimes the stubborn one, when a girl is a blue ranger, most of the time she is the calm one. Most Blue Rangers represent Calmness and truth. For example, Kevin (Samurai) and Kai (Lost Galaxy) have been serious. Lucas (Time Force) was the 'cool' one. Dax (Operation Drive) was the goofy one. Noah of Megaforce was the smart but insecure one while Koda of Dino Charge has been serious, heartwarming and a bit of comic relief.

Yellow
Yellow represent sunshine, warmth, fun, happiness, warning, friendship, caution, intelligence, cowardice, love, hope, optimism, imagination, curiosity, surprise and thrill. Most Yellow Rangers are the happy-go-lucky ones (Kelsey, Katie, Emily). They have represented almost all the properties previously mentioned. There are some Yellow Rangers that are the opposite of happiness and optimism, like Taylor of Wild Force and Gia of Megaforce. When elemental, Yellow has been used for a variety of elements such as Earth and Thunder and Lighting like Chip of Mystic Force.

Pink
Pink has represented girls, love, health, fairies, beauty, cuteness, and glamor. And all the Pink Rangers have in some way represented all those aspects (fairies only to a few). The majority of the Pink Rangers in Sentai had to represent feminine side, be super girly. The few Pink Rangers that have been tomboyish have been Jen, Vida of Mystic Force, Rose, Shelby, and Mia. Emma of Megaforce was cheery and Shelby of Dino Charge was tomboyish and a dino lover.

White
Most of the time, White represents bravery, purity, nobility, softness, emptiness, knowledge, snow, heaven, peace, life, clean, air, sunlight, surrender, clouds, frost, angels, weakness, protagonist, winter, and innocence. White Rangers have represented bravery, purity, nobility, softness, knowledge, snow, peace, life, clean, winter, and innocence since half have been female and half have been male. The one that represented snow and winter is Udonna, the one that has been complete opposite was the evil White Dino Ranger. The newest white Ranger is in Ninja Steel.

Black

Black has represented darkness, secrecy, power, mystery, death, fear, antagonist, strong, chaos, evil, bad luck crime, elegance, anarchy, rebellion, non-conformity, individuality, and solidarity. Black Rangers have represented darkness, power, mystery, strength, rebellion, non-conformity, individuality, and solidarity. Dillon of RPM reminds of rebellion and non-conformity and solidarity. Most Black Rangers are the serious one or bad boy. Sometimes the comic relief like Zack and Jake or shy one like Adam and Danny (PRWF). With strength, Tommy (PRDT)  come to mind. Chase has been the ladies man and a bit of comic relief.

Gold
A cousin to yellow (orange and brown as well BTW) is gold. While green may be the color of U.S. money gold is the color of riches and extravagance. Because gold is a precious metal, the color gold is associated with wealth and prosperity. It can also represent praise, commendation, valuable, positive, superior, outstanding, excellence, and favored person. Most Gold Rangers as Sixth Rangers and are considered the best and powerful. Daggeron were stern teachers, Trey was powerful and serious, Gem was happy-go-lucky and liked shiny things and things that exploded, and Genta was happy-go-lucky, hard working and earnest. Jason, by extension of being the Gold Ranger as well was also seen as strong and powerful. Antonio of Power Rangers Samurai was happy-go-lucky and determined and doesn't give up. Ivan was more a comic relief, with his fish out of water stchick. At this point, the Gold Ninja Steel Ranger hasn't been cast yet.


Silver
Silver, especially a shiny, metallic silver, is cool like gray but livelier, more playful. Silver can be sleek and modern or impart a feeling of ornate riches. Silver often symbolizes riches, just as gold does. Silver can be glamorous and distinguished. While women are seen as old, gray-haired men are seen as graceful aging. The silver-tongued is considered witty, eloquent speaker. Most Silver Rangers (except for Nova and RPM) are sixth rangers and are considered the most powerful. Zhane, Merrick, Tyzonn and Orion are fall under this. Gema like her brother liked exploding things but was a bit judgmental but that changed. Orion is a fish put of water.

Violet
Purple is associated with royalty and nobility (stemming from classical antiquity when Tyrian Purple was only affordable to the elites). A mysterious color, purple is associated with both nobility and spirituality. Since there has only been one Violet/Purple warrior in both franchises, there is not much to go on. =R.J./Violet Wolf Ranger was a neo-hippie, very calm zen master, with his own daddy issues. There was also Koragg who was dark and mysterious. Albert was a scaredy cat and Kendall is the smart one.

Orange
Orange represents desire, fire, engineering, determination, compassion, endurance, and optimism. Fire is repeated from Red and Optimism is repeated from Yellow. There has not been many orange warriors. Most of the time it is mixed with white like with GekiChopper/Rhino Ranger and DekaSwan/Kat Ranger. The only real orange warrior in Sentai were BattleCossack and Toq 6 Gou in Toqger which was not adapted into Power Rangers. Deka Swan as compassate, Ken (Chopper) had endurance, and Dominick (Rhino) had determination.

Kamen Riders Different Shades of Colors 4 (2015)

PARTE CUARTO (4)
Most Kamen Riders are a mix of colors, most likely to differentiate from Sentai. I went for the majority color in suit or if most of the Kamen Riders had the same color suit (like the case in Ryuki and Gaim), then the majority color used to differentiate from them. They are put in order of appearance and sometimes, by series. I added some of the modes and only they if different shade than the original rider (say for example Den-O climax form is not here since it is same color as Sword Form), are displayed here. Because nowadays since Kiva, there are less Riders and the main rider has the most modes. The hardest to place is Kamen Rider Sigurd as he is an even amount of black, red, green and light green. I also split up Blue and Green in lighter colors to make up space since there are so many now.

 Shades of Green (26)

Obviously this would be the most used color since Kamen Rider started with insects. Kamen Rider Ichigou and Kamen Rider Nigou were both green. V3's helmet was red and used some red in his costume but his suit was mostly green. Amazon's suit was green, X's helmet was silver but his suit was light green, and Skyrider and Shin were green. Zo, and J were a dark Viridian. Kuuga's Pegasus form and Gills was green; and Another Agito had a dark green suit. In Ryuki, Zolda was green. In Blade, Leangle was a dark Spinach green (Myrtle) and Lance was almost a Hunter Green. In Hibiki, Todoroki and Zanki had dark green suits and Kabuki was a bright tangy green. As for the new Kamen Rider The First revival, one of the Kamen Riders is regular green. V3 has a crimson helmet with green suit. In Kabuto, Kick Hopper was green. In Den-O, two of Zeronos' 3 forms were green. While Kiva's Basshaa form (based on a sea creature) was green. The Green cyclone part of Kamen Rider Double is a mix between Gills and Zolda's green shades. Kamen Rider OOO's Gatakiriba Combo is dark shiny green. Kamen Rider Wizard's Hurricane Style is green. Kamen Rider Ryugen of Kamen Rider Gaim has grape-theme so he has grape but has mostly green, kind of hard since the purple seems to be the first thing I think about.

Shades of Blue (21)

Bio Rider from Black RX was completely blue. Kuuga's dragon mode was blue. G3 and G3-X in Agito was cobalt blue. Kamen Rider Knight in Ryuki was unique as he was a dark blue and had some black. Kamen Rider Blade was the first rider to lead a series that was blue (Ultramarine). Ibuki, Danki, and Gouki were different shades of blue. Ibuki was a darker blue than the others. In Kabuto, Gatack was a bright blue like Azure. Den-O's Rod form and Strike form were blue, Strike was darker. Kiva's Garulu form was blue, a bright blue. Amiki, introduced into the world of Hibiki in Decade, is the same shade of blue of Ibuki. The Trigger blue part of Kamen Rider Double is similar to that of Gattack's. Accel's Trail, it is kind of like the shade of blue of the Den-O blue and maybe Kuuga blue. It is almost royal blue. Kamen Rider OOO's Shauta Combo was a dark cobalt blue. Kamen Rider Poseidon was a mix of red and dark blue but his helmet was cyan.  Kamen Rider Wizard's Water Style is bright sharp blue. In Kamen Rider Gaim, Gaim's main mode is majority navy blue with some orange. 

Shades of Red (24)

Kamen Rider Stronger had green, red, black and yellow, but the color used most was red. Kamen Rider ZX was the first rider to be completely red. Kamen Rider Kuuga was the first to start the tradition of Riders of being red. Agito Burning/Shining Form and Ryuki were red. 55 mostly had black but his trim was red and his other form was mostly red. In Blade, Garren was Burgundy and Larc was regular red. Hibiki had some red and his other forms were red. Shuki's suit was like Sangria mixed with Scarlet.Kabuto was more like a dark crimson. Den-O's sword form was red and Zerono's Zero form was a Maroon color and Yu-Ki had some red. Kiva was red and G is wine-color red. The heat part of Kamen Rider Double is a lighter red, more like a Red Ranger red. Kamen Rider Accel in Kamen Rider W, his color is a prime red, like for a car, a bit scarlet, a bit darker than lets say, the usual Red Ranger. Kamen Rider G, which was for a special, had black and red. As for the Kamen Rider OOO and the Tajadol combo, it is a red and dark red. Kamen Rider Fourze's Fire State is bright red. Kamen Rider Wizard's Flame Style is pretty bright red. Kamen Rider Baron has some silver and yellow but mostly red but almost a pinkish red. Kamen Rider Idun is white and red but since red is more prominent, I go with that. Kamen Rider Drive is mostly red, also his other two modes Dead Heat and Tridoron. Kamen Rider Lupin is a dark red suit.


Black (21)
Kamen Rider Black was clearly the first black rider. Black RX had some green but mostly black. Robo Rider had some yellow but mostly black as well. While Kuuga's ultimate form was black and gold. In Ryuki, Ryuuga was completely black and grey. Alternative and Zero were black. Kamen Rider Kaixa (555) had yellow and purple and black but I didn't know where to put him, he was a hard one, should I have had put him in yellow?! Delta, who I love to call Zebra, was for sure black. Orga has red, gold and black, he is mostly black. Chalice (Blade) had red and black. In Kabuto, Punch Hopper has a metallic gun-metal looking and Dark Kabuto is black with scarlet. In Kiva, Arc was black and Dark Kiva had black, gold, green and red, he was mostly black. Even though Skull has a silver face, his body is mostly black. And the Joker part of Double has some purple accents but mostly is Black. Kamen Rider Kurokage of Gaim, his armor is black with some dark brown. Kamen Rider Fifteen of Gaim is black and white. Kamen Rider Chase Machine is black and Kamen Rider Protodrive is black with some purple. Kamen Rider Tyrant is hard as Sigurd as he has black, silver and orange but I'll go with black as his arms and legs are black. 

  White (13)

The first to grace us with white was the first female rider Kamen Rider Femme. In 555, Pysga was white with blue and purple. Kamen Rider Touki in Hibiki had a mostly white suit. Kiva had 3 white Riders! Ixa, Saga and Rey. Ixa has white, gold, blue, red and black. Saga has blue, white, purple, yellow and gold. Rey has black and gold and white. Kamen Rider Kivala is blue and white, but the majority of her outfit is white. The white part of FangJoker is white. Kamen Rider Eternal is all white and Kamen Rider Fourze's base state. Also Kamen Rider Kuuga's Growing Form. Kamen Rider Zangestu of Gaim has some green and gold but mostly gold. Also Kamen Rider Mach of Kamen Rider Drive with some red and black.

Silver (12)

Super-1 was mostly silver. Shadow Moon of Black RX was completely silver. In Ryuki, Gai was a dark grey and silver and black, while Tiger was silver with indigo. In Hibiki, Shoki (who didn't appear that much in the series) had some silver. Yu-ki from Den-O had a silver form. Double's Metal form is just silver, simple as that. And the G Den-O, he has blue and red but mostly black and silver. Kamen Rider OOO's Sagohzo Combo is almost white. Kamen Rider Nadeshiko's suit is silver with periwinkle while her helmet is black and white. Kamen Rider OOO's Magent State is all silver but he has a black head. I would love to put Kamen Rider Chaser as purple but his suit is mostly silver.

Shades of Yellow (10)
 Glaive of Blade was yellow. Nishiki of Hibiki was completely yellow! In Kabuto, Bee was yellow and black and Caucasus was a yellow metal. Den-O's Axe form was yellow for sure.  The yellow part of Double's Luna Memory is a shiny yellow, a bit like TheBee's. And as for the Kamen Rider OOO's LAtortar Combo, his yellow is almost gold-ish. Accel Booster is yellow. Kamen Rider Meteor Storm is a metallic yellow, almost gold. Kamen Rider Wizard's Land Style is yellow. I moved Fourze's Elec State to gold but I still maintain that Meteor Storm is more of a yellow.

Cyan (8)
In Spanish, light blue is called celeste and it is a color in its own right in Russia, Spain and other European countries. In Kabuto, Drake was a light blue, different shade than before. In Decade, Kamen Rider Abyss from the Ryuki World is a cyan and Diend is supposed to be cyan but looks more like a cornflower blue. Kamen Rider Meteor is a metallic cyan. Kamen Rider Fourze's Cosmic State was a bright blue, a neon aqua. Kamen Rider Type Formula has some white and blue but let me consider it blue. Kamen Rider Aqua is clearly aqua and cyan and blue. Kamuro (Lapis) is mostly silver suit but has a lot of light blue accents. 

Purple (8)
Kamen Rider Kuuga's Titan form is purple, the first in fact. Kamen Rider Ohja (Ryuki) is a violet. Kamen Rider Eiki's suit is like a violet-maroon and with silver and dark teal color. Kamen Rider Sasword (Kabuto) was a dark lavender, a tangy violet, it is a different shade than Ohja. Kamen Rider Den-O's gun mode is a Amethyst-like violet. Nega Den-O was a plum-like purple. Kamen Rider Kiva's Dogga form is a vivid dark sharp purple. Kamen Rider OOO's Putotyra Combo is a pretty purple.  

Gold (7)

In Ryuki, Odin was gold and some bronze-y colors. In Hibiki, Banki (who didn't appear that much in the series) had like a pale gold. And Kirameki had silver, gold and black, his suit was black but let's say he is gold, since he has so much gold. Kamen Rider Kuuga Rising Ultimate was gold and black. I forgot about Kamen Rider Agito's main form! Kamen Rider Fourze's Elec State is goldish-yellow. Kamen Rider Mars has red, gold and black but mostly gold, he is from Gaim. 

Brown / Bronze (6)

Kamen Rider Imperer had gold and a coffee brown, he was the first brown I suppose. In Hibiki, Toki (who didn't appear that much in the series) had a light orange or brown. Also, Habataki was all brown. In Kabuto, Ketaros was a copper color, like a penny. In Den-O, Gaoh was a bronze color. I personally don't like brown but Habataki looks good. Kamen Rider Gridon of Gaim is brown mostly.

Orange (5)

Kamen Rider Scissors from Ryuki is considered orange but he is like a goldish yellow. Sabaki (Hibiki) was like Vermilion, which is a red-orange. Kamen Rider OOO's Burakawani Combo's helmet is bronze-like but rest of body is orange. Kamen Rider Fourze's Rocket Drill States is orange. I haven't seen the series but in some pictures he has a regular mode helmet but the toys have him in both orange and white helmets. Kamen Rider Bravo of Gaim's suit is mostly black or dark blue but his armor is light yellow-orange. 

 Pink (4)

I hear Decade is suppose to be Magenta, he looks like a softer tone of Magenta. Raia is a highly debated color, some say pink, I say raspberry red or deep Carmine. Decade is clearly pink, the first real pink Rider. Also, Kamen Rider Marika of Kamen Rider Gaim is pink, a true pink. Kamen Rider Jam is silver and black but mostly pink accents, this was a tough one but I am making the judgment.


Light Green/Olive Green/Lime Green (4)
Kamen Rider Ryuki's Kamen Rider Verde was a lime green, Verde is Spanish for Green. As for the new Kamen Rider The First revival, one of the Kamen Riders is a aqua-green. Den-O's wing form was a light olive green.  Kamen Rider Bravo of Gaim is lime green, regular green and tangy purple.

Kyoryu Navy in Kyoryuger Movie Promo

During Episode 16 of Kyoryuger, a promo for Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Gaburincho of Music aired. The movie premieres August 3rd. Kyoryu Navy will premiere, the fourth Sentai hero to premiere during a movie (or special) but the first to have a figure. He has a permanent 'Armed On.' If you might remember, his Zyudenryu Tobaspino which is similar to the Tyrannosaurus. The first three were Demon Hunter Seig in Kyuukyuu Sentai GoGoFive the Movie: Sudden Shock! A New Warrior, DekaGold in Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger The Movie: Full Blast Action and Aka Red in Boukenger vs. Super Sentai (which was just a special but he originated there. He no longer was 'movie-only' when he appeared in Gokaiger). He is also the third 'blue' ranger in Kyoryuger and second Navy Ranger (Kuwagaraijer is the first) in Super Sentai.

Deathryuger is an evil ancient knight. He appears and kidnaps Mikoto Amano.

KyoryuCyan!!! More Kyouryugers to come?

On the heels of news about new KyoryuGold, we get a Kyoryuger before KyoryuGold. This actor is not Japanese and the first one apparently. Robert Baldwin played Gordo in the 2005 Star God Series, Sazer X. Since he hasn't appeared in toy catalogs, I am thinking he will be a guest Ranger and makes me think we will be getting more Kyoryugers. I like the silver on his teeth and replacing the yellow. I like that his name is Cyan, as no other warrior in Super Sentai will has had the name Cyan, neither on Power Rangers while Jungle Fury's Shark Ranger is cyan.

Power Rangers Blue Ranger Morphsuit Review (Power Force)

Halloween came early today... or late, however you want to look at it. They said it might get to us by Halloween but no promises. To be fair, they offered it to us a week or so before the holiday.

So the first free thing all the Power Force Members were offered was a Morphsuit. I say the first thing to all of them is because those of us that went to the Power Morphicon got a gift bag at the Power Breakfast. And I say 'offered' because maybe not all wanted the Morphsuit, so I don't know if all the members got one.

We were offered one of the basic five colors, the packaging has the White Ranger on it and the website only has the basic 5 colors. I was tempted to get Pink. I know MorphinLegacy is getting blue as well. 

Now I have my own personal body issues and did not want a picture floating around there with me and the suit on so here it is on my bed. It is hard to get completely flat without creases.

Washing Instructions: Step 1: Wash Separately in cold water; Step 2: Line Dry and do not bleach or iron.

It has a zipper from the head to the bottom back, right above the butt. Inside near the shoulder, there is a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers tag that says Power Rangers.com on the back. Also it says Trademark and Copyright SCG and Power Rangers LLC.

The face has the front of the helmet, the back of the mask doesn't have any design. It is interesting that it has two different shades of grey. I also like that the visor is outlined with a black line.

It is of course a one-piece jumpsuit but the gloves have individual fingers and the thumb one seems more outlined. For those of you that thought that the separate pieces was just one but no, the diamonds and other different colors are sewn together.

The morpher looks great, but I didn't think the outlining of the coin would be silver, I would had rather it in black.

One thing I don't like is that the name "Morphsuits" is scrawled on the back like a tramp stamp.


Final Review:
Great product! It comes in four sizes: Medium (if your height is smaller than 5'4"), Large (less than 5'10" but taller than 5'4"), Extra-Large (less than 6'3", taller than 5'10") and XXL (Over 6'3" in height). I got XL. But this definitely is for a skinner gentleman. It fit me fine but it just doesn't look great. I might get a friend that is my height to put it on to take a proper picture. My 3 year-old nephew did like when I put it on. He was a happy camper.
