Mega Force: Advantages to adapting Goseiger or Gokaiger

I have done a lot of posts about adapting Gokaiger. Before Samurai, I discussed the pros and cons of adapting Shinkenger or Goseiger. 'Mega Force' has been copyright by Saban Brands, Samurai won't end until the end of this year--2012. In 2013, they will be adapting a new series. The logical choice would be Goseiger, as it aired after Shinkenger and Saban and Disney hadn't skipped one. 2013 is the 20th anniversary for Power Rangers. It is rumored Toei MIGHT (not will for sure---there is a difference) re-shoot the Legacy War for Power Rangers (rumored to omit Pre-Zyu teams and speculated to omit Dairanger and if they skip Goseiger, them too). Anyway, they said they might do the war for PR but didn't say for what year, the 20th anniversary could be 2014 and we don't know if the footage will be kept for 2014. But Saban Brands dude Elle Dekel said 2013 would be the 20th anniversary. If you had to choose between Goseiger or Gokaiger for the 20th anniversary, reflecting on past teams, which one would you choose?

Tensou Sentai Goseiger
The plot of Goseiger is a team of Earth-protecting Angels from a special world. But of course, in adapting it, they could make it anything they wanted. Some fans have suggested that their master Master Head could become Zordon and their robot Datas could become Alpha's successor. Gosei Knight in Goseiger is one of the 'zords,' but they can re-make it into a human. But fans say its boring and we won't be missing much. They do have the colors of the original Power Rangers. I did give some thought to the Goseiger being the ones using the Ranger Keys but there is the logic of their buckles, their zords, their cards and other factors that it wouldn't work out.

Master Head
As I said before that Master Head that can be taken and said he is a resurrected Zordon. That he is looking over the Rangers for years but has not interfered.

Datas
He looks nothing like Alpha 5. Even though fans don't think the goofy-acting child-like Datas can be transferred into Power Rangers but remember that Magiranger's mischievous Smoky became a lame Genji in Mystic Force and Go-Onger's Go-Roader GT became the lifeless Road Attack Zord in RPM. Also, the simple-minded Zuuban of Boukenger became elitist Sentinel Knight. But he could be used as a rebuilt Alpha robot.

Costume Villains
The majority of the villains are in suit, meaning they wouldn't have to hire an actor. But knowing Power Rangers, they always add one new character like Ransik, Master Org, Flurious, etc. Mystic Force didn't add a new villain but did have LeeLee.

Pirate Sentai Gokaiger
Many fans have expressed that they don't want Gokaiger skipped and some do want Gosieger skipped. There is evidence to make me believe they will be adapting Gokaiger into Mega Force or whatever, skipping Goseiger: They did casting in late fall of 2011 and the casting director they didn't settle on any and might be casting again in Spring 2012 because they are 'putting more resources' into it as it will be the Power Rangers' 20th anniversary. Saban Brands big wig Elle Dekel said 2013 would be the 20th anniversary.

Legends
Selling old toys and having exposure of old seasons might boost sales of DVD and rental of streaming on Netflix. Since in Gokaiger, the past teams have lost their power sand no longer can transform, Saban crew can pick any actor of past team, doesn't have to be red. And the past Rangers were called 'Super Legends' by Disney and Bandai a few years ago. The con would be negotiating costs to fly American or Canadian actors to New Zealand, it depends on their schedules.
Gender Changes
In Power Rangers, we can finally see females in colors we haven't seen before like Navy, Black, Green and more Reds and Silver and White. They are different twists to the suits of past Rangers and they some how make them more interesting. Having the main team become past teams definitely have a '20th anniversary' feel.  Of course, this was done for the 35th anniversary of Sentai so obviously it would have an anniversary feel.

Skipping Pre-Zyuranger Teams
It seems that Toei has been sort of adjusting things for Power Rangers, now this is just a speculation, but not true. For example, the other auxiliary zords so far (Mystic Force, SPD, Wild Force, Samurai, MMPR, Time Force and Dino Thunder) and in future (Ninja Storm and RPM) were all Power Rangers-related, not one is of Sentai before 1992. Another is that with 45 episodes out of 51 episodes of Gokaiger that has aired currently, there has only been 4 tributes episodes based on pre-Zyu teams. So it would be very easy to re-shoot scenes featuring the past costumes (which have been short) and skipping 4 to 10 episodes has been done many a time for Power Rangers.

You forgot Dai bouken showing up as well as the liveman robo. Although neither has been used much.

Yeah ou forgot Dai Bouken or whatever it is that shows up for boukenger's ultimate power. Also Liveman's is I think a giant robo ghost type thing ...although I'm not sure as it hasn't shown up much.

Yikes! Master Head looks more like Zardoz than Zordon.

Granted I haven't seen any Goseiger footage outside of their use on Gokaiger. So its easy for me to suggest that they could nix the angel angle and perhaps play up the animal aspect. After seeing so many similarities between Samurai and Shrikenger, I'd like to see more "new" writing in the American adaptation.

For my own thoughts on adapting Gokaiger. If I were working on it, I'd nix the past ranger appearances. Instead have the Pirate Rangers on a quest to pass tests of character in order to unlock power and maybe be greeted by the "spirit of the ranger" a ghostly vision of a suited ranger of the respective team, or perhaps use AkaRed as the Spirit of Zordon to serve as a guide while they're in the field and have Navi play off him like Alpha 5.

I know that may sound like blasphemy, especially given how bringing back Tommy or Bulk helped ratings before but I'd just as soon save money for reshooting scenes with PR counterparts so that the big battles the rangers start can finish well.

When will Samurai officially end?

In my theory Gokaiger will be adapted for 2013 Power Rangers calling it Megaforce/Pirates or whatever they choose. If the Legend War is shooting this year then why make Gokaiger adaptation for 2014? Not showing 2 years after shooting.

For 2014, I think Goseiger is going to adapt. It is going to be weird since Gokaiger took place after Goseiger, and Saban making Goseiger adaptation after Gokaiger might be little awkward. But it might be interesting.

That mean we might not going to see Go-buster adaptation until 2015, but that a whole new topic completely.

Mjoinr, Samurai officially will be 40 episodes and 2 seasons so most likely at the end of 2012 it will end, date not stated yet.

eh i dont like the idea of skipping goseiger cuz i acually liked the series plus this is the perfect thing to revamp MMPR theme but no samurai had to take the samurai forever crap thanks alot saban

I think a team like Aquitar, but why Saban would not broadcast the two together?

they can make the goseiger henshin into past power rangers using CARDS instead of keys??? i would prefer them to adapt goseiger due to the matching colors

I guess changing into pst rangers with the cards could be a good idea, but they would need to reshoot everything, when in Gokaiger they would need just to edit or add some rangers in order to replace pre-zyu teams.

Remember also that Gokaiger mecha is using also past mecha(or past related) like Gaolion, Magidragon, Furaimaru, patstriker, ect ect... so Goseiger piloting the Gokaimecha?

Im not aware of the contracts and legal stuff between Toei and Saban, but I think the most intelligent idea (intelligent meaning saving money and reshoot the least) is to adapt each goseiger or gokaiger separately. If they want aniversary on 2013, maybe doing Gokaiger and then goseiger, or doing this in the right order to have anniversary on 2015

If they skip Goseiger what would happen to the silver rangers gold mode? My guess is they would replace Goseiknights' head with Titanium Rangers'.

Just being curious: you use Tensou but Pirate instead of Kaizoku, why?

I hope saban does not skip goseiger but they better do a better job than their version of shinkenger.I was thinking that also about master header being an evolved form of zordon you know a reward for his sacrafice at the end of in space he becomes a higher form of life.I think the show should go back to angel grove bring it back to MMPR days try and get originals back as that for its 20th anniversary. Also isnt Mega Force a title copyrighted by Saban but not including a live action show with that title.

I think it'd be better for Saban to adapt Gokaiger rather than Goseiger for Power Ranger's 20th anniversary season because they don't have to reshoot much for the past rangers appearances. Like many people said, they can simply omit footages containing any of the pre-Zyu rangers and the Dairangers (sans KibaRanger) besides adding some new footages.

About Goseiger being adapted AFTER Gokaiger, I would have to disagree on that as that'd be weird to not follow the production order. Besides, I think Saban doesn't have to skip Goseiger completely. Gosei Knight can represent Goseiger the same way KibaRanger represented Dairanger in MMPR. But unlike KibaRanger, Gosei Knight's counterpart doesn't have to appear out of suit, just like Ninjor, Blue Senturion & Phantom Ranger.

With Gosei Knight being adapted, his head on Gokai Silver's Gold Mode doesn't have to be replaced by Titanium Ranger's helmet, thus no reshooting is needed. Therefore, Titanium Ranger can also be considered as one of the extra rangers, just like Magna Defender despite them being the sixth member of their respective teams.

I hope Saban will also utilize the scenes from Goseiger vs Shinkenger in which Gosei Knight can be seen with the Shinkengers (morphed and without the Goseigers, of course), especially his scenes with Shinken Gold. Additional scenes can be added to clarify his counterpart's connection with the Samurai Rangers.

Wingspan, I have no logic because I simply forgot what tensou meant.

Here's a thought, why don't they save us a few million face palms and just simply use the exact same footage as the Japanese counterparts and just re-dub the freaking thing. No one could fill the shoes of the Gokaigers. They are all on "bad-ass" mode like 24/7.
