Working titles and working character names and other cast members

My buddy Raúl started this thread on Rangerboard about working titles for Power Rangers. I decided to0 compile it here as well. Some of these have been confirmed by producers in either interviews, e-mails or conventions. Working titles often happen in many movies because of many reasons. Original Thread here

UPDATED 10/5/10 7:30AM EST
Working Titles:

Power Rangers Zeo
Originally going to be called Zeo Rangers. Cyrax9 of Rangerboard says it would have been Mighty Morphin Zeo Rangers. I read somewhere on IMBD once that ZEO stood for something of Zordon, like Zordon of Eltar's Odyssey.
From a VCD:

Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie
I remember reading somewhere back when that it was to be titled Race to the Volcano.

Power Rangers Time Force
Time Traveler was the working title with the source being Judd/Chip Lynn at PMC2. Rumored to also be Time Warp.

Power Rangers Ninja Storm
It is said that it was to be called Stealth Force. Cyrax says it was actually localized in some regions as Ninja Force.

Power Rangers Dino Thunder

It is said that it was to be called Dino Tech.

Operation Overdrive
Possible titles: "Power Rangers Drive Force"
"Power Rangers Relic Hunters"
These were copyrighted and there was even a website address (that linked to the Disney wbesite), but they were changed. My personal theory is that it was changed because it was discovered by fans, but I could be wrong.

Power Rangers Jungle Fury

It is rumored that it would have been called Beast Fist.

Working Character Names:
MMPR
Aisha's first name was spelled Aiesha. (Seen in The Best Man For The Job fourth draft from Project Hexagon)
And I am still want Brad Hawkings to tell me the name of the White Ranger that he would have played.
Power Rangers Zeo
Tanya Sloan was going to be called Kenya. (Seen in Hog Day Afternoon Pt.1 Fourth draft from Project Hexagon)

Power Rangers Turbo
Carlos was going to be the Red Ranger
The Green Ranger was gonna be called Michael
The Pink Ranger was going to be called Missy
The Yellow Ranger was called Ashley (and not Jenny Hunter) in the role of Lt.Stone's niece (Seen in Rangers In Concert, First draft from Project Hexagon)
At first, "T.J." meant "Thomas Johnson" (seen in Passing of the torch Part 1 Final draft from Project Hexagon) and "Timothy Johnson" (seen in Passing of the torch Part 2 final draft from Project Hexagon).

Lightspeed Rescue
Carter Grayson was going to be called Carter Grier.

Time Force
Circuit was to be called Digit, this has been confirmed and re-confirmed by Brianne Brozey (A.K.A. Brianne Sidall). It is also evident by the toy that came with the Pink Ranger.
Ransik was originally named Morbus (confirmed by Vernon Wells and Chip/Judd Lynn); I believe this name was in the Fox Kids Magazine as well, in a faux interview with the Time Force Rangers.
I remember reading a casting call sheet on Rangerboard back when that the Red Ranger's name was to be Luke.

Wild Force
Alyssa Enrile's name was Alyssa Reyes.

Ninja Storm
Shane Clarke was going to be called Shane Stevens
Dustin Brooks was going to be called Dustin Croft
The Thunder Rangers were going to the Red Shadow Ranger and the Blue Shadow Ranger.

Dino Thunder

Conner McKnight was going to be called Connor Ross
Trent Fernandez was going to be called Trent Gonzales
The Dr. character was going to be a new one, Edward Payne

SPD
Jack Landors was going to be called Jack Manners
Z Delgado was going to be called Z Manners
Sydney Drew was going to be called Sydney Cole
Sky Tate was going to be called Sky Blake; He was originally called Blake and then Tate.

Mystic Force
Nick Russell was going to be called Nate Russell
Madison Rocca was going to be called Madison Grey

Operation Overdrive
Will Aston was going to be called Will Ferraday

RPM
Scott Truman was going to be called Drew
Summer Landsdown was going to be called Kayla
Another actress would have portrayed "Kayla". She was Heidi Kathy Bradhurt.
Gem and Gemma were going to be called Yin and Yang (Mike Ginn said so in another website's Q&A section)

Power Rangers Samurai

Jayden was going to be called Reese.
Mike was going to be called Parry.
Emily was going to be called Ava.
Mia was going to be called Sadie.
Kevin was going to be called Baron.

Other Cast Changes:
MMPR
Audri DuBois was to be Trini, she played her in the pilot, she opted out because she didn't want to commit to the contract, in less words.
My post on it here: http://henshingrid.blogspot.com/2010/08/mighty-morphin-power-rangers-pilot.html
"I spoke to Saban about the situation I faced and it was decided that this wasn't the project for me. He was very kind about the whole situation. He later invited me to play the role of April Jones in VR Troopers. But we just couldn't seem to agree on enough to follow through with anyone project." -http://www.rangerboard.com/showthread.php?t=77856

Brad Hawkins (Ryan Steele of VR Troopers) was to be the White Ranger.
My interview with him: http://henshingrid.blogspot.com/2009/02/brad-hawkins-interview.html My doctored photo above.

Lost Galaxy
There was an actress before Cerina Vincent as Maya. She was Erin Simms. Interview here:
http://www.rangerboard.com/showthread.php?t=124867
(Photoshop manipulations above)

Wild Force
Princes Shayla was played by a different actress Natasha Allas, evident by these pictures.

Another actor portrayed Danny before Jack Guzman

Another actress portrayed Alyssa before Jessica Rey (it was Sandra McCoy "Kendall") According to reports, Koichi Sakamoto demanded a character that his wife could double for, thus she was given the role of Kendall instead.

And another actor played Max

Power Ranger and VR Trooper Halloween Costume Patterns

I updated my post about the Halloween costumes made for kids with all the pics of all the costumes made:
http://henshingrid.blogspot.com/2008/09/power-rangers-halloween-cotumes.html
UPDATED 10/7/10 7PM EST
Someone asked what exactly is a pattern. Since my mother is seamstress, I am used to this, so I guess I assumed everyone knew. When you open the bag, there are these thin brown papers with drawn-on shapes. The shapes or patterns come in different sizes. You have to cut out the shape in the size you want and trace it over the fabric. You cut out the fabric and sew it together. Those are patterns, that's how it works. She had to make the patterns bigger for me because it didn't came in my size, so she was such an expert she made it my size.

MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS

These patterns came out in 1994, I was thrilled that they came out because the other costumes didn't come in my size and luckiloy my mom is a seamstress and she could re-size it. So she made a Black Ranger costume for me, green for a cousin and Pink Ranger outfit for my niece. The Green Ranger is the only costume made ever of the Green Ranger. It is so funny how they had an African-American child in the Black Ranger costume just like Zack and an Asian girl as the Yellow Ranger like Trini. Notice they even had the characters names as they were yet to be replaced. The costumes were pretty accurate, even to the Green Ranger's floppy shield. Well, except for the hats instead of helmets. They came with iron-ons for the chest and 'morphers', I asked my mother not to put the iron-on on our chests as that was not on the show.

The White Ranger costume had no drawing and didn't say the character's name as probably it hadn't been decided yet for Tommy to be the White Ranger (Remember Brad Hawkins was originally cast as the White Ranger).

Then in 1995, there was six patterns for the Ninja Rangers. There were 2 official all ready made costumes but only of White and Pink. They were pretty show accurate.

POWER RANGERS ZEO

Power Rangers Zeo was the last series to get the pattern treatment for kid costumes, instead of individual patterns for each Ranger, there was one for boys (Red, Blue, Green) and another for girls (Pink, Yellow). This was probably because the first Rangers had different animal masks and different iron-ons.

The Gold Ranger costume was more complicated so it got its own bag. And these days, patterns are that popular, in fact Wal-Mart stores in my area got rid of the fabrics section.

VR TROOPERS

Kaitlin Star
I never saw this in sewing stores that my mom frequented but apparently they did exist. It is impossible for any kids Halloween costume to be show-accurate, but this was a fairly detailed watered-down version.

JB Reese pattern
Just like the MMPR ones, JB Reese was African-American, so they had an African-American boy in the costume.

Ryan Steele
They had the second season Ryan costume. Geez, it was the second year and they hadn't even spelled his last name right---well Steele is the incorrect way to spell Steel, but that was his name. I found it real cool they also had a pattern to make a plush doll. I don't even know if they had regular Halloween costumes for the VR Troopers.
