Girl Power Week: The Power of Pink

Going over the female Rangers by colors, if they had skirts and what about their costumes were different. I left pink for last because it is the color most used for females and exclusively so.

Momo Ranger (1975)
The original Pink Ranger. No skirt.

Heart Queen (1977)
The first to get a skirt, no trim.

Miss America (1979)
The majority of her costume was pink, so I will count her. She had no skirt.

Denzi Pink (1980)
She had a skirt with a large white trim.

Goggle Pink (1981)
No skirt, just like her male counterparts.

Dyna Pink (1983)
No skirt, white legs with stripe, same as the males. The year before Sun Vulcan, skipped girls and pink all together.

Pink Five (Bioman, 1984)
She was the first pink Ranger to have a female partner. Like her, she had an underwear-like like shape unlike the male rangers that had a short-shape, but no skirt to speak of.

Change Phoenix (1985)
She had pink underwear-like thing.

Flash Pink (1986)
She and Yellow were like the Bioman women that had underwear-like shapes, but had white legs, unlike their male counterparts. Their male counterparts had ranger-color legs with black stripes. They only had ranger-color at the crotch area for a lack for a better term.

Mask Pink (1987)
She had white trim on her skirt like Yellow.

Turbo Pink (1989)
The year before, there was a female blue. She had a gold trim on her skirt.

Five Pink (1990)
No skirt.

Pteraranger (1992) / Pink Ranger (1993-1995, 2010)
The first Pink Ranger for MMPR. She had a triangular skirt with white trim.

Pink Ninja Ranger (1995)
For the movie and 3rd season, the Pink Ranger and Yellow had skirt sheets with white underneath in this PR-exclusive costume.

Houhouranger (1993)
She had a white skirt with silt and gold trim, with pink legs. For those who don't know, her show Dairanger, their zords were used for the Thunderzords of Season 2 and their suits were not used for PR.

Sakura (Kakuranger, 1994)
I don't usually mention the flower ninja much in my list of Rangers because I do not consider her or the Hana Rangers as part of the other good sentai. It is like counting the Nejiranger/Psycho Rangers. They go with the evil Sentai. She had no skirt, she was the closest thing to have a Pink ranger in Kakuranger.

Oh Pink (1995) / Zeo Ranger I Pink (1996)
In Ohranger, she and Yellow had a skirt with gold trim, same color throughout. The team before Kakuranger had white instead Pink.

Pink Racer (1996) / Pink Turbo Ranger (1997)
Skirt with no trim.

Mega Pink (1997) / Pink Space Ranger (1998)
Skirt, no trim. In one episode, she became Super Miku with gold squares on her chest, this did not appear in PR.

Neji Pink (1997) / Psycho Pink (1998-1999)
Heck, if I counted the Hanarangers, might as well count Neji Pinkie. No skirt. Psycho Pink was used in the episode "The Power of Pink" of Lost Galaxy when Valerie Vernon had to leave the show and they needed a reason why. Psycho Pink survived 10 Rangers destroying her team and she inadvertently lead to the death of Kendrix.

Ginga Pink (1998) / Pink Galaxy ranger (1999)
She got a skirt but with no trim.

Go Pink (1999) / Pink Lightspeed Ranger (2000)
Skirt, no trim.

Time Pink (Timeranger, 2000) / Pink Ranger (Time Force, 2001)
Skirt, no trim. In Disney World, she had a meet and greet character.

Deka Pink (SPD, 2004) / Pink Ranger (SPD, 2005)
First Pink Ranger in both franchises in 4 years, she like the other SPD gals had no skirt. There was also the Pink A-Squad Ranger.

Magi Pink (Magiranger, 2005) / Mystic Pink Ranger (Mystic Force, 2006)
White legs, skirt with stripes and no trim. In Disney World, she had a meet and greet character.

Bouken Pink (2006) / Pink OO Ranger (2007)
Skirt, no trim, continuous same color.

Shinken Pink (Shinkenger, 2009) / Pink Ranger (Samurai, 2011)
She had a skirt with no trim, black designs on top and black legs, just like Yellow and Red.

Gosei Pink (Goseiger, 2010)
All her teammates had white legs, she was no exception, she has a white skirt with pink trim.

Girl Power Week: The Power of Yellow

Going over the female Rangers by colors, if they had skirts and what about their costumes were different. Like I have said before, not all yellow rangers are female in Super Sentai, there has been 13 female yellow rangers while more than that have been male. In Power Rangers, 5 male Rangers have become female, as I have stated before.

Yellow Four (Bioman-1984)
Like Pink, she had an underwear-like like shape unlike the male rangers that had a short-shape, but no skirt to speak of. She was the first female Yellow Ranger after 9 years of the show running.

Yellow Flash (Flashman-1986)
She and Pink were like the Bioman women that had underwear-like shapes, but had white legs, unlike their male counterparts. Their male counterparts had ranger-color legs with black stripes. They only had ranger-color at the crotch area for a lack for a better term. The year before Changeman had no yellow.

Yellow Maskman (Maskman, 1985)
Just like their Maskman brethen, Pink and Yellow had Ranger-color legs, only difference was a skirt with white trim, that ended in an arrow shape.

Five Yellow (Fiveman, 1990)
There had been no female Yellow Ranger in a while, she and her sister had no skirt and no real difference to their brothers.

Mighty Morphin Yellow Ranger (1993-1995, 2010)
Tiger Ranger of Zyuranger was male, but changed to female in MMPR. She is the first female Yellow Ranger to have no skirt and not the last.

Yellow Ninja Ranger (MMPR, 1995)
In the movie and season 3, Aisha's ninja outfit had a skirt-like felt sticking out of her belt just like pink. This outfit was exclusive to Power Rangers.

Oh Yellow (Ohranger, 1995) / Zeo Ranger II (Zeo, 1996)
In Ohranger, she and Pink had a skirt with gold trim, same color throughout. In Zeo, she was the first female Yellow Ranger to have a skirt.

Yellow Racer (Carranger, 1996) / Yellow Turbo Ranger (Turbo, 1997)
Both had skirt with no trim, same ranger-color throughout.

Mega Yellow (Megaranger, 1997) / Yellow Space Ranger (In Space, 1998)
Both had skirt with no trim, same ranger-color throughout.

Neji Yellow (1997) / Psycho Yellow (1998-1999)
I mentioned the Hanarangers, might as well mention Pyscho yellow. She had no skirt.

Yellow Galaxy Ranger (Lost Galaxy, 1999)
Just like MMPR Yellow before her, her Sentai counterpart was male so hence no skirt.

Yellow Lightspeed Ranger (PRLR, 2000)
Third Male Yellow Ranger from Sentai to be gender-changed, no skirt. For Mcdonalds, she got a skirt in the toy and promotional illustration.

Yellow Ranger (Time Force, 2001)
Fourth to be gender changed, no skirt.

Yellow Ranger (Wild Force, 2002)
Fifth and last to be gender changed from male to female, no skirt.

Abare Yellow (Abaranger, 2003) / Yellow Ranger (Dino Thunder, 2004)
First female Yellow Ranger in little of six years or so in Sentai, she was the first female Yellow Ranger to have a skirt in Power Rangers in the same amount. She had a skirt with no trim, same color throughout. The year before Ninja Storm had the second male Yellow Ranger ever.

Deka Yellow (Dekaranger, 2004) / Yellow Ranger (SPD, 2005)
No skirt for the SPD girls, costume same as all.

Bouken Yellow (Boukenger, 2006) / Yellow Ranger (PROO, 2007)
Same as the others, white and ranger-color, she had a skirt with no trim. In Disney World, she had a meet and greet character. She is the third and last female Ranger to do regular meets and greets.

Geki Yellow (Gekiranger, 2007) / Cheetah Ranger (Jungle Fury, 2008)
She had a skirt with a split on the side. Each Ranger had different patterns.

Go-On Yellow (Go-Onger, 2008) / Ranger Yellow (RPM, 2009)
She had a skirt with no trim. She was the second female Yellow Ranger gone solo in a team.

Shinken Yellow (Shinkenger, 2009) / Yellow Ranger (Samurai, 2011)
She had a skirt with no trim, black designs on top and black legs, just like Pink and Red.

Gosei Yellow (Goseiger, 2010)
All her teammates had white legs, she was no exception, she has a white skirt with yellow trim.

Keep going... there's more!

Girl Power Week: The Power of White

Going over the female Rangers by colors, if they had skirts and what about their costumes were different. The female White Rangers are the only ones to have the word White in their hero name, unlike all male White Rangers so far that doesn't have the word White in their name.

Change Mermaid (Changeman, 1985)
All the Changeman had white vests, but since Change Mermaid was white, she had pink trims to separate her ranger color. Pink had white underwear-like pants, so thats why she has it too with the pink trim. She is the first white female ranger, the first White Ranger all together was Big One.

White Swan (Jetman, 1991)
Just like Change Mermaid, she had pink instead of white (the common thread in the Jetmen) because her main color was white. The male Rangers had ranger-color underwear and the girls had skirts. While Blue had blue skirt with yellow trim, White Swan had white skirt with yellow trim and pink legs.

Ninja White (Kakuranger, 1994) / White Aquitar Ranger (Aquitar Rangers, 1996)
Her costume had no real change than the male ones, where she has a plain skirt with no trim, same color as the rest of her outfit---white. Unlike other female White Rangers, she has no pink.

Gao White (Gaoranger, 2001) / White Wild Force Ranger (Wild Force, 2002)
Like past female White Rangers before her, she has pink trim (except Ninja White of course). The other male Rangers had ranger-color legs, she did too but just pink trim. So her skirt was white with pink trim, pink color and some pink in her helmet.

Deka Swan (Dekaranger-2004) / Kat Ranger (SPD-2005)
If you watched Swan Swan closely in Dekaranger, you could see her Ranger suit underneath her coat. She transformed two times in Dekaranger. Kat only transformed once in SPD. Her helmet has some swan feathers part but it kind of look like a cat, making me believe it was pre-ordained by Bandai America or Disney to make her look cat like for SPD. My own theory, not supported by any fact. It has orange but considered to be a White Ranger, she had orange, white and black.

Magi Mother (Magiranger, 2005) / White Mystic Ranger (Mystic Force-2006)
She was the first to transform in both series. Hers was different from the others but had the stripes like the others. Her skirt had three points and rounded out in the back. Her boots like big pointy parts going up. Her legs were just blank white like the other two females. Her helmet was much like the head of MagiMermaid/Mermaid Titan.

Girl Power Week: Rare Colors

Going over the female Rangers by colors, if they had skirts and what about their costumes were different. Here are colors that have been used less. Blue has been used the most out of these so let's cover that first...

BLUE
Blue Dolphin (Liveman-1988)
She was the first female Blue Ranger in Super Sentai. Her other teammates had white legs, she had white legs too but the only difference is that she had a white skirt with blue trim. She was the same shade of blue as the other male Blue Rangers, no deviation.

Blue Swallow (Jetman-1991)
3 years later, there was another female Blue Ranger with a lighter shade of blue, it was near aqua. The male Jetman had white legs and ranger-color underwear-like shorts. The females had skirts, Blue had a blue skirt with yellow trim.

Ayame (Kakuranger, 1994)
She is a villainess and I don't mention the flower ninja much in my list of Rangers because I do not consider her or the Hana Rangers as part of the other good sentai. It is like counting the Nejiranger/Psycho Rangers. They go with the evil Sentai. Her color was more of an indigo.

Hurricane Blue (Hurricanger-2002) / Blue Wind Ranger (Ninja Storm-2003)
She was the first female Blue Ranger in Power Rangers with Ninja Storm. Her shade of blue was lighter than male Blue Rangers, a tad different shade of Blue Swallow. Her outfit was significantly different from the male Rangers as they had Ranger-color legs and she had silver mesh legs like her arms and everyone else's arms. She has a blue skirt with no trim.

Magi Blue (Magiranger-2005) / Blue Mystic Ranger (Mystic Force-2006)
Three years later we got our fourth girl Blue Ranger for Sentai and second for Power Rangers. She is a light different shade than the other ones. The male Rangers had ranger-color legs and Pink and Blue had skirts like the male legs with black and gold stripes and white legs. In Sentai, she is the third female blue ranger to have white legs.

SILVER
Deka Bright (Dekranger-2004) / Nova Ranger (SPD-2005)
Deka Bright was the first silver ranger as I have covered before. Like the other female SPD Rangers, she had no skirt. She had an entire silver body suit with navy vest, gloves and boots. Her helmet has the resemblance of a lady police hat from Europe. Deka Bright appeared in one episode of Dekaranger and Nova Ranger appeared in one episode of SPD.

Go-On Silver (Go-Onger, 2008) / Ranger Silver (Go-Onger, 2009)
She is was much like a sixth ranger as she was tied with Gold like a package. Go-On Silver and Ranger Silver are the first female Silver Ranger to officially be called 'Silver.' She had the same motif as her brother, with a skirt that matched her legs in both with black and silver with no accents. Her whole outfit had red accents.

RED
SPD A-Squad Red Ranger (SPD, 2005)
The first female Red Ranger ever, even before Super Sentai. Produced Bruce Kalish asked Disney if they could have a girl Red Ranger, they were weary about it but in the end, they did agree. The A-Squad had the helmets of the Megaranger/Power Rangers in Space with some modifications with motor-cross armor and SPD accents. The female SPD Rangers had no skirts. She had a whole black suit with red accents.

Shinken Red (Shinkenger, 2009) / Red Ranger (Super Samurai, 2012)
The first female Red Ranger in Super Sentai and will probably be the second female Red Ranger in Power Ranger history. Her costume is the same as the one as the male Red Ranger but with red skirt with no trim and black legs. Shinken Red also donned white long vest as Super Shinken Red. This will be updated once she appears on Power Rangers.

GREEN

Mele (Gekiranger, 2007) / Camile (Jungle Fury, 2008)
She is most commonly considered a villainess, but fans consider her most than anything like the first female Green Ranger. She has a zord/mecha and armored form and transformation sequence in Jungle Fury. I think of her more as an ally and also a test, I am sure there will be a female Green Ranger soon.

Suiren (Kakuranger, 1994)
In that regard, Suiren the Hana Ninja was indeed like a female Green Ranger. She is a villainess and I don't mention the flower ninja much in my list of Rangers because I do not consider her or the Hana Rangers as part of the other good sentai. It is like counting the Nejiranger/Psycho Rangers. They go with the evil Sentai.

VIOLET

Yuri and Ran (Kakuranger, 1994)
The other Hana Rangers, Yuri was orange and Ran was purple. There has been no official good female Purple Ranger nor orange. Deka Swan/Kat Ranger had orange accents but considered more like a white ranger.

Kyoryu Violet (Kyoryuger, 2013) / Violet Ranger (Dino Charge, 2015)
Kyoryu Violet in Kyoryuger, there was two and the second was female.
