Sent Ryan Carter a Snide action figure!

I interviewed Ryan Carter (Heckyl) a few weeks ago...

Lavender Ranger: Speaking of action figures, did you get a Snide one yet?

Ryan Carter: No, sadly I don't have a snide action figure yet. I don't know where to start if I did want to find one! It would be a great memento to own. I have to say, if they did end up making a Heckyl figure (which is unlikely) I would probably wet my pants with sheer joy.

Lavender Ranger: I'll be happy to send you one as a gift. 

Ryan Carter: That would be amazing regarding the snide figure! I do live in Australia though, but if that's too far to send, don't worry about it. I will hopefully be in the states soon and I can pick one up then.

Power Rangers Dino Supercharge - Forged by Fire - Episode Review

Episode Summary:

Tyler and James are in their Ranger suits without helmets next to their bikes and writing a list of things they plan to do together. They ride off in their bikes. Back at the ship, Singe has zotak rings which neutralize the power of anything, including the Energems. Fury is mad. Heckyl says Singe's plans have no results and threatens him. Riley and Ivan sword fight when James and Tyler drop in into the base. James assumes Koda and Ivan are modern people and find out they aren't because of their Energems. Prince Philip introduces himself as well. Shelby explains they stopped aging because of the gem. Chase says James and Tyler look like brothers. 

Kendall says Tyler's super mode will able to access powers from their Energems but they are missing to transmutate the Aqua and Graphite one. James says the gem stole 10 years of his life and it saved his life. In a flashback, it is explained he and Rusty were in a collapsing cave. He saved Rusty and he realized he was stuck under the rocks and saw a glowing Energem and bonded with it. Fury arrived and demanded for the gem. James ran off. Fury never stop following him and he didn't want to put Tyler in danger. Tyler says he doesn't have to run anymore. 

The alarm goes off and the Rangers go. James wants to go but Kendall stops him. The six Rangers fight Hunter. Singe has the Zotak Rings. Fury arrives and asks for the manga beam. Singe puts the rings on Fury and he grows. Tyler goes to Super Mode and the others call the zords and form Tri-Stego-Ptera formation. Ivan gets the Dino Super Drive Saber and they all go dino superdrive armor. Tyler kicks Hunter down. He combines the two morphers and Hunter leaves. Singe blasts Tyler and wraps a Zotak Ring around him. Fury says the rings take his power. Ivan does the final strike and Ivan shrinks down.

Tyler calls for help. Tyler is freed but the super mode comes off. Singe and Hunter run off into the warehouse, the Rangers follow and fight them. He whips them all, they de-morph and have rings around the Energems. Awua and Graphite arrive and save them. Back at the base, Kendall tries breaking the ring off with the transmuter but it cracks the Red energem. Keeper says it is risky to morph with a crack in it. James comes up with using lava to fix the crack. Tyler and James go to the caves. JFK, I mean, James worries about his son but see he can take care of himself. They reach the hot lava and put the energem in but the crack is bigger. Tyler wants to use Dino Armor X but James thinks its too dangerous.

Tyler says it is more than them and the whole world is in danger. Tyler morphs with the armor X and digs downward. The cave shakes. James communicates with the others on the base, saying the cave collapsed. Kendall says his suit will protect him and tells James to morph. She calls Phillip and they go to fight the alien threat. They meet with James and morph when the aliens arrive. They fight the Viviks. Back at the base, Shelby says without powers or not, they are still Rangers and they run off with their ringed Energems and are stopped by Hunter. The five fight Hunter. They fall and Koda tackles him but drops. Hunter blasts them. Back in the lava, Tyler puts the energem inside the lava.

SInge arrives and blasts Aqua, Graphite and Purple. Tyler digs out of the ground and goes Super. He blastrs at Singe and takes down the ring controller. The rings fall off the Energems. The five Rangers morph and fight Hunter. They do a new attack Ptera Saber Final Strike. Back with Singe, Aqua, Graphite, Purple and Super Red fight him. Purple tells him to use the abilities. Tyler does Tri-Steggo formation and has pink and blue arms. He drills Singe. He does Tri-Angkylo formation and has Aqua hammer arm. He destroys various Viviks. He then does Ankylo-Pachy and has the Pachy wrecking ball and takes out more villains. The last new one he does is Para-Raptor and has black-green arms and boots. He does a final strike on Singe. Singe survives and teleports away.

Fury is mad at Singe for being in his cell, they are about to strike each other, Heckyl takes away his swords and locks them in together. Heckyl says the Rangers loves it when they fight among themselves and they must learn to work together. They complain. Back at the base, Tyler tells his story about the lava fix. Tyler shows Ivan a picture. Shelby is surprised he took a selfie. Riley says it is impossible, Tyler says lots of impossible things have been happening. Keeper and James were talking and James is leaving to find the Silver Energem. James tells Tyler he doesn't really need him anymore and he can handle himself and the world needs him. They hug and take a selfie. 

Episode Review:

People were complaining that James is leaving as soon as Tyler found him. But I suspected as much as there is little Aqua Ranger footage. But then why him as Aqua and not Silver? Well, like his character said, he had to use his archaeological skills to find it. Razzle1337 has brought up the point that the Operation Overdrive Rangers were more successful in finding the Corona Aurora jewels than the Rangers actually found the gems. Also James realized his son doesn't really need him to distract him from his mission of saving the world. I don't think it was such a bad episode as everyone was saying on Twitter. Maybe I should stop seeing the reactions to the ep. My 2-year-old grandniece liked the episode while my 6 year-old grandnephew didn't want Tyler's dad to leave.

Turbo Yellow has been spotted
With the upcoming Ranger Keys, now the majority of teams are complete except for some Extra Heroes (which didn't appear in Super Megaforce which I suppose are excusable). 

Super Megaforce/Mighty Morphin/Alien/Zeo

Super Megaforce had 3 packs but to get Silver Ranger you had to get the Silver Morpher and/or 20 Keys set. Mighty Morphin you had to get 4 different packs. Aquitar and Zeo you had to get 2 packs to have complete team.

Availability: if you buy all the packs (3, 4, 2, 2)

 Turbo

You can only get 6 of 7. Red, Green and Blue came in Set A, Pink, Phantom Ranger and Blue Senturion in Set B available at TRU as of January 2015. Pink Turbo came in TRU 20 Key Set. Most likely Blue Senturion and Phantom Ranger were chosen for Turbo Pack B because they are both male and both Sixth or extra heroes. Turbo Yellow will be coming in a third set in 2016 along with Translucent Red and Phantom.

In Space

Red, Blue and Black released in Set A. Silver comes in the TRU 20 Key Set. Set B had Yellow, Translucent Red. Most likely Pink was excluded to not have 2 females in the pack. The New 2016 set C has Pink, Translucent Red and Black. The Translucent keys include Red, Blue and Black.

Availability: Hard, you would have to buy THREE packs AND the 20 Key Set.

Lost Galaxy

Red, Green and Blue come in Set A and Set B with Yellow and Magna Defender at TRU. As of 2016, we will get Pink with Translucent Red and Magna Defender. Most likely Pink was excluded from Set B to not have 2 females. Pink appeared at SDCC 2013 and 2014 but not at NYCC 2014. The only translucent keys are Red, Green and Magna Defender

Lightspeed Rescue

Red, Blue and Green come in Set A and Titanium is only available through PMC 2014. Finally in 2016, we get Pink and Yellow in Pack B. Titanium comes in Translucent form.

Availability: Really hard. LR came limited when released and Titanium only available if you went to PMC, got a ticket and paid for it or paid A LOT for it on the web. If you buy 2 packs and weren't able to get the PMC pack, you have a translucent Titanium.


Time Force
SThe first set came with Red, Green and Blue; while Quantum Ranger comes in the 20 Key Set and Pink will come in the Set B Ranger Key Pack. The third set in 2016 comes with Yellow and funny enough, a translucent Pink key. Translucent Keys are Red, Blue, Green and Pink

Wild Force

 The first came with Black, Red and Blue. The second set will come with Yellow and Lunar Wolf.  White appeared at SDCC 2013. Most likely White was excluded from pack B to not have 2 females. In 2016, pack C has White, translucent Red and Silver. The Translucent keys include Red, Black and Lunar Wolf.

Ninja Storm/Dino Thunder/Jungle Fury
Ninja Storm has 2 packs, Dino Thunder has 2 packs and 20 keys set and Jungle Fury has 2 packs. For non-transcluent Violet Wolf Ranger, you had to get PMC pack. Fans have wanted Spirit Rangers so bad, they are three Rangers that are American and not Japanese. But they don't seem to be in the making. Even if they only had 3 keys they would probably make 2 packs to milk it. This looks like the last round.

In 2016, Set C has Yellow, Translucent Red and Shadow, not Kat and no Nova.Yes I am counting Kat Ranger as she was part of the Gokaiger Ranger Keys. Nova Ranger got a key in Japan recently part of the Lost Key Edition. Most likely Yellow was excluded because there was no space. The A-Squad Rangers did not appear in Sentai. Probably Kat and Nova weren't included because they didn't appear in Super Megaforce but neither did Shadow Ranger! Translucent keys are Red and Shadow.

Even though Lauren (female Red) has been advertised in promos and back of boxes, she won't be available. Red, Green and Blue came in the first set and Pink and Gold will come in a second set with a translucent MALE red key. Yellow has only seen in a  small promotional image for the initial 20 key set which later changed. In 2016, the final set has Yellow, translucent Gold and Green. Translucent keys are Red (male), Gold and Green.

Megaforce
Red, Blue and Black in Set A and Robo Knight in the Silver Spear or the 20 key set. Yellow has been seen in promotional posters and in a small promo pic for initial 20 key set which later changed. In 2016, Set C has Pink, Yellow and Translucent Red. The only Translucent Key is Red.

Availability: Sort of difficult as if you want Robo Knight you need to find the Silver Spear or get the 20 key set. You need two sets.

Power Rangers Dino Supercharge - Roar of the Red Ranger - Episode Review

Summary:

Heckyl is not enthused by Fury's plan. Shinge comes in with Ninja and a plan to put a virus in the weapons of the Rangers. Tyler takes the Rangers with a crayon map to find a box of letters and mementos. The other Rangers are supportive. Tyler puts a Dino Bite Cafe in the box, saying his friends are important. Shelby says thanks for saying sharing it. Later Red Ranger blasts targets on his bike with his morpher. Shelby says he only hit four and before he hit all six. Ninja comes in and puts in the virus. 

Kendall keeps the Red energem to make the Super Charger. Tyler takes out a map from Rusty where the cave-in happenw ith James. There is a flood, he wants to hold his breath. Shelby thinks his dad maybe haven't survived. Tyler is peeved, thinking she wanted him to five up. He runs off. Ninja comes in. Tyler awakes in a daze. A light blue foot kicks him and fights Ninja. Ninja runs off. Tyler gets up. Back at the base, Kendall says the new charge responds to the T-Rex energy. Riley activates the weapons program, the virus goes through. 

Tyler returns all hurt, saying a monster attacked him and he think he saw the Aqua Ranger. Keeper asks for his identity. He thinks it might be Rusty as he spoke about his Energem. Keeper says they can add extra strength. Shelby wants to talk, Tyler says there is nothing to discuss. Outside with all the Rangers (even Kendall morphed), Tyler calls the Super Charger and it shocks him. He becomes like a T-Rex and his helmet roars. Kendall tries helping but is knocked off and pounced on by Tyler. Ivan and Riley de-morph after being knocked off by Tyler. Kendall heads off to the base. 

She finds there is a virus there, knowing it is Heckyl. The T-Rex spirit has taken over Tyler. He roars at Night. Back at the ship, Snide threatens Shinge. Shinge has another monster to hunt for Tyler. Snide says he doesn't like Shinge. Kendall gives the Rangers a Hypno Charger and Super Charger as they hop in the jeep. Shelby asks if the real Tyler is in there. She shows them his crayon map. The hunter monster is after Tyler and the Rangers see him. Koda detects Ninja and kicks him. The Hunter monster arrives and they crowd the Rangers as they morph. Chase goes after Tyler. 

Riley and Ivan fight Ninja. Hunter fights Koda and Shelby. The Rangers are knocked down. Chase calls out for Tyler and finds his box o memories. He spots a pic of Tyler's dad and Tyler when little. The infected Tyler comes near him and is hit by the Hypno blast but it wears off and he tackles him. Aqua Ranger comes in and stops Tyler. Aqua says he won't hurt him and defends himself against Red and calls him Tyler. He de-morphs. Chase is shocked. James shows him the baseball when he was a kid. Tyler returns to normal and James picks him up. They hug. Riley calls Chase, he tells them they are on the way.


Chase tells Tyler Shelby knew he would be there. Tyler, James and Black Ranger arrive to the two monster site and instamorph. They blast away the Hunter monster and he leaves. 7 Rangers aginst Ninja. Chase gives Tyler the super-charger. He calls for the Super T-Rex, T-Rex becomes cute and little and he dons the armor. He fights Ninja in a barrage of explosions. Ninja tries throwing ninja stars to no avail against Tyler. Tyler blasts him down. The little zord attack him. Tyler does a big kick and chomp. He combines the two morphers and does the final strike on Ninja. Magna Beam makes Ninja big. T-Rex goes big too and the Rangers summon Brachio and Plesio. Plesio Charge Pachy-Rex is formed. The Rangers call the Dino Drive mode and then go Dino Super Drive. Aqua Ranger says it is awesome as he enters the cockpit. Ninja throws more ninja stars. They do T-Rex Power Blast and Galactic Blast and destroy the monster.



Back at the ship, Hunter says they know where the Aqua Gem is. Fury says thanks to him there is one more Ranger. Heckyl is about to destroy him. Shinge they need Hunter as bait. Heckyl is intrigued. Back at the box, James says he found the Energem when the cave collapsed ten years ago. Rusty is there too and he knew James was a Ranger but they didn't know there was more Energems. Shelby and Tyler make up. James says he was hiding for years and was relived to find out he was a Ranger. He saw everuything happened. Shelby says never giving up happen in the family. Tyler and James catch up playing baseball as the others leave.


Review:
Everyone was complaining about Tyler not explaining his story and Rusty having lied, I think there is subtext about James not being able to be un-aging in public (maybe he thought Tyler couldn't handle an immortal dad) and Rusty contacted Tyler in other to find out what he was doing. But it is screwed up James never sent Tyler a letter or anything to let him know he was okay. I agree the ep is a little rushed as they squeezed two eps in there. It isn't as rushed as other seasons though. 

.....Uhh... More Ranger Keys in 2016

UPDATED 3/15/16 

Just when we thought it was over, Bandai America decided to put us in debt with yet more Ranger Keys. Finally they succumbed to having two females per pack but didn't indulge in having Extra Heroes like Kat Ranger or Nova Ranger or even the Jungle Fury Spirit Rangers. Here are my critiques, you are thinking it, I'm saying it.

Lost Galaxy - this third pack has Translucent Magna Defender, Red Ranger and FINALLY Pink Ranger. This is fine as we had regular Magna Defender, Yellow and Translucent Green. 

In Space - Pink Ranger, Translucent Black and Red AGAIN. The last pack has translucent Red and Blue, so Red again. They could had Silver Ranger but OH WELL. For those who don't know, Silver Ranger came in the 20 keys set. Looks like they have a law against them having any of those exclusive keys even though they aren't being sold anymore.

Lightspeed Rescue - FINALLY Yellow, Pink and Titanium, the second pack for LR. 

Time Force - Yellow, Translucent Pink and Blue. Kudos to them for having Pink in the pack even though she showed up in the last pack. So now we have Translucent Red, Pink, Blue and Green. I don't care that there is no Quantum Ranger, who was in 20 key set. Looks like they have a law against them having any of those exclusive keys even though they aren't being sold anymore.

Wild Force - Translucent Lunar Wolf and Red and FINALLY White Wild Force Ranger. Last pack was Yellow with Lunar Wolf and Translucent Black. So now we have Translucent Red, Black and Lunar Wolf.

SPD - FINALLY Yellow, Translucent Red and Shadow, so no Kat Ranger and Nova Ranger. I guess they didn't want an all-female pack. Also since Nova only appeared in one ep and Kat appeared in one ep.

 Mystic Force - FINALLY Pink and Blue, translucent Solaris Knight.

Operation Overdrive - Pink with translucent Blue and Mercury. Last pack was Translucent Red with Mercury and Yellow, so now they have Translucent Blue, Red and Mercury.

RPM - FINALLY Black, Translucent Red and Gold, it would've been cool to have the Gold/Silver hybrid but whatever.

Samurai - FINALLY Yellow, and Translucent Green and Gold, like they went out of the way NOT TO HAVE LAUREN!!!

Megaforce - Translucent Red and Finally Pink and Yellow

There IS a Turbo pack with Turbo Yellow, Translucent Red and Phantom Ranger.

Power Rangers Dino Supercharge - Date with Danger - Episode Review

Summary:

Chase has a pattern of what he does on dates. He has trophies. Shelby figures it is the fourth date. Tyler says Chase usually does push-ups. Chase says he doesn't do it anymore. Koda says it is because a girl beat him at pushups once. Chase says this current girl he is dating is different. He accidentally gets electrocuted with a machine Kendall had out. A asteroid lands on Earth and it is monster called Shinge, who offers to gets the Energems for Fury, Snide and Wrench. Chase does some skating moves for his date Kayley. She is unimpressed and complains it has been a hour. He says he is a regular guy. She says there is a thing she has to do and leaves. 

Elsewhere, Tyler opens a letter that someone says he saw his father before he disappeared and some buildings get attacked so he morphs. Chase sees it, morphs and joins Tyler. They meet Fury and Fury introduces Shinge. Shinge says he has a headache, he uses his gun against the Rangers and moves Fury out of the way. He hit a random woman, Chase comes to her rescue. Kayley arrives and offers to take the woman. Chase does an American accent and flips and leaves. He puts the Armor X armor and fights Shinge but gets knocked down. The other four Rangers arrive and get knocked down. 

Fury tells Shinge to forget his headache. Shinge says Fury has been there for millions of years and didn't get one energem. They try to fight. The Rangers shoot at them and they teleport away. Wrench gives Shinge a picture of Koda and Kayley. Shinge shows Heckyl his plan to kidnap Kayley. Heckyl is for it but threatens Shinge anyway. Shelby reads the note that Tyler have from the guy named Rusty, He kisses her cheek and she blushes and he leaves. At the diner, Chase shows Kayley his thropies. She breaks up with hi, saying she met someone else and leaves. He tries to stop her, he wants to know who she is. She says he is the Black Ranger. He quickly says it is him and interrupts himself.

At the base, he says "She dumped me for me." Shelby asks him where he took her on her date. She asked him if he asked her what she wanted to do. She asks if he nows what she likes. He says he'll never have a chance, come sup with an idea and leaves. He gets electrocuted again. Tyler meets with Rusty in a cave where he has a site. He tells him a story where he last saw James and there was a shake and James saved him and the cave collapsed around him. Tyler asks if he got out. Rusty says it is possible. Rusty asks to see Tyler's gem and asks him where he found it. Rusty says it is really something. Meanwhile, Black Ranger meets Kayley in his labored American accent. She says she loves space, she wants to be an astronaut.

Black Ranger and Kayley hang out on his bike and then he shows her a telescope. Kayley would like to know his identity. He says he can't. Later, Keeper speaks to him at the base. He has pictures of them together. Keeper asks if they have a future together. Chase says it was the only way to be with her. Keeper says if with an accent and hiding his identity, could she truly be happy with him? Later on another date, Kayley says she feels close to him. He says it is a problem, he can never tell her who he is, he said they have to be friends. She says she can't get over him. He says maybe another guy before him. She tells him he was all into himself. Black Ranger tells him to give him a chance and they part ways. Chase de-morphs saying he lost her twice.

He hears her screaming and Shinge and Wrench have her. Shinge shoots at him and he sweres on his bike and kicks Wrench and gets Kayley. He tells her to go and he will call the police. The other Rangers arrive. They morph. Tyler is called away by Kendall. The Rangers fight Shinge and Wrench. Shinge tells Snide to make him big, he says he likes his style and he puts his foot down near the Rangers and blasts at them. Plesiozord arrives with Tyler in it. They all jump inside it. They add Parazord. They activate Dino Superdrive and shoot back at Shinge and knock him. They do galactic Para/Plesio Blast but it is isn't enough, Riley addes the Raptor. Shinge takes him down. Poisandra makes fun of Fury in the ship. Fury reverses the mega-beam and he shrinks. 

Back at the ship, Fury tells Shinge to get out of his cell. Shinge says Heckyl says he can pick any cell he wants. Shinge wonder show the mega beam wore off. Fury tells him to watch his step. Back at the diner, Kayley apologizes to Chase. Chase apologizes for just showing off. She says they can try again but not to focus on him. Shelby says she thought he would focus on the grill. He says he is focusing on the girl. Shelby says not the girl but the grill, which is on fire, Chase panics. 

Review:

It is funny how some people didn't notice Chase was changing his accent. Also that Kayley's Kiwi accent slips in most noticeably in the last scene. Accents are tricky, especially when it is on a set with a lot of technical people, actors, props and long hours. These actors have to wait hours for lighting and other crew to set up. It is not easy point and shoot. Shinge is a great character, he was a character like Fury in Kyouryuger, lasting a couple of eps. Shinge reminds me of Heckyl but is a little different as he is over-confident. Also, I didn't like how everyone was on Chase's side. I would had expected Kendall or even Riley to mention Chase should focus on being Ranger other than just love. Keeper is now like that grandpa that gives life advise but disappears when something big happens... like Heckyl entering the base a couple eps back!!!

Also we are introduced to Rusty who in the flashback we briefly see the Silver Energem near him. As James, Tyler's dad is now assumed to be the Aqua Ranger due to the episode summaries (One mentions Tyler and James reuniting and the next mentions the Aqua Ranger being present. Also the toy description says Aqua Ranger has been around for a while and the actor hired to be James is rather young, so we can assume he got the Energem and stayed the age he was when he got lost.), I guess Rusty will be the Silver Ranger.
