Power Rangers Cosmic Fury - Operation Seasoning - Episode Review

Episode Summary:

They arrive above Earth. Zayto had a long nap. They did a lot while he was sleeping. They show him their plan Operation Seasoning, an Earth globe with thumbtacks representing Squid Drills. They have salt and pepper. The spy will take down the drill and the anti-zord force will go down and Javi drops the salt and pepper, representing their Megazords. They plan to take down the drills and release the prisoners and Rangers. Zayto likes the plan. The Rangers go to summon the zords. The Megazords approach the orbit. Javi in Eagle, Fern in Scorpion, Amelia in Lion, Izzy in Chameleon, Billy in wolf, Aiyon in the gold libra (no name given) zord, and Zayto in the dragon. They are all slightly in the right colors except for Zayto and Javi. Javi could've easily been in the Bull. Anyway, Amelia calls her dad to signal his spy. 

At this point, I wasn't sure if the spy was Heckyl or Omwhyzo. Why Omwhyzo? Because in Kyuranger, Quervo was a disguise for a warrior. He then merged with Don Armage and became Don Quervo. Technically Quervo is not classified as a monster. So I thought he was a disguise--in fact, he looks like one of the disguises the Rangers used in "Rock Out." 

In Rine Ridge, Ohmyzo finds no Sentinels and only Heckyl and Squilla. Heckyl gave her a spay day voucher. He wants to take care of the base Omwhyzo says it is unprofessional. Heckyl shows his true colors, he says he has to do it the hard way. He takes out his boomerang and hits them. He morphs into the Dino Charge Dark Ranger. Ohmyzo calls the Zenintels to fight Dark Ranger. The Megazord enters the atmosphere. Heckyl tries destroying the forcefield with his boomerang but Squilla wraps her tentacle around him and squeezes him. He tries to get his communicator buckle, but she stops it. The Rangers struggle as they enter the forcefield. Heckyl de-morphs and is dropped by Squillia. Ohmyzo finds the Megazords. The Megazords crash and Tarrick sees this. The Rangers are taken in by Zentinels. Aiyon and Zayto are separated from the others. Zayto sends the zords back into the grid or the sky that opens up. 

Zayto is weakened. Tarrick meets up with them. He says the plan failed. Zayto says the zords are repairing in the grid and he faints. Tarrick teleports them back to his base. Solon sees the unconscious Zayto. Aiyon says this is the second time. Zayto yawns. Aiyon and Solon are worried, Zayto is not. They say not to use magic. The base is on the Moon. Aiyon asked how did the Morphin Masters brought him back. Zayto says there was not a debrief but he thinks he was filled with their magic. They are concerned the magic can run out. Pop Pop arrives ina van from Grid Battleforce, he has the teleport devices from General Shaw. They plan to teleport the Mega Squid Drill. Their plan to crash it, so they can let the prisoners escape and the anti-zord field can go down. Pop Pop says they need a distraction. Zayto calls his staff. Aiyon pulls Zayto aside.

Zayto says he hears him but he is not wrong, they have friends to save, magic is his choice. He needs them to trust him. He wants it to stay between them for now. AIyon and Solon begrudgingly agree. Zayto has the distraction idea. At the Zedd Prison, Tarrick, Pop Pop, and the soldiers are ready. Solon grows huge. Zentinels blast at it. Aiyon asks Zayto if he can handle it. Aiyon teleports away with the transporters. Zentinels asks for backup. Aiyon sets up the transporters. Zayto stops making Solon grow and she shrinks. Aiyon catches Zayto as he faints. He turns on the tranporters and it hits the drill. The drill hits the prison and explodes. The Rafkonians run for the prison. Solon takes Zayto to the base. The prisoners escape. Tarrick fights the Zentiells. Cosmic Fury Rangers escape and reunite with their families. Carlos notices Javi's arm. Their cousin is there too. Tarrick has the others help. The famiily leaves. 

Billy, Heckyl, Jane and J-Borg escape. Squillia and Omwhyzo arrive. The seven rangers reunite and morph. The five Cosmic Fury Rangers pose and Billy and Heckyl morph. The Seven Rangers fight. Orange realizes her weapon has a Numchuck mode. Squillia and Dark Ranger fight and Tarrick helps. Amelia and Billy think of destroying the Squid Drills. The Rangers call the Zords back. Tarrick, Billy and Heckyl continue fighting. The zords destroy the drill while a Copygiard becomes big. They destroy the Copyguard. Tarrick destroys Omwhyzo, who picks on him for not being a Ranger. The Drill goes to Battle Mode. The zords combine and become a Megazord with wolf, lion,  chameleon, scorpion and eagle. They destroy the drill. Heckyl and Tarrick stop the Zentinels. Billy defeats Squillia. They put sleepy cuffs on Squillia. Tarrick asks Amelia how she is. Shark Zord crashes into another drill and the rangers destroy it. The Zords split up and fly away. In the base, they celebrate. Their phones are charged and blowing up with messages. Fern has to go because of her parents. Billy, Heckyl and Terrick speak to them through video and say good job. Terrick mentions he and Heckyl are ex-bad guys. Heckyl says someone else has to take the next tentacle-related mission. Izzy says there are more prisons. Billy says they have them globally. Heckyl, Tarrick and Billy show they have Squillia. The team laughs.

Episode Review:  

We never see Heckyl again. At least it was fun to see him. Even though he has silver on his helmet instead of red, that is fine, it looks good. He has the Kyoryu Navy helmet instead of the Deathryuger helmet, which goes with his costume. Simon Bennett said that is the helmet Toei gave them. A very interesting episode but I still don't like Squillia. I know she is a comment on kids on social media but her voice is grating and there is not much depth. Nadira at least turned around and became good, realizing her selfishness was shallow. The Rangers using different zords is disorientating and it has to do with the Kyuranger footage. I really think it was a missed opportunity not to have a scene with Heckyl and Ollie, but oh well.
