Many Spikes in Pop Culture

UPDATED 5/25/111 2:30 PM EST
No more Spikes please, I'm all spiked out. You can comment on it but I won't add it.

Obviously Spike of Power Rangers Samurai is NOT the first 'Spike' in pop culture, I wanted to do a fun post about all the popular Spikes in popular culture (TV, Movies, Celebrities, etc.).

Spike a.k.a. William the Bloody
Premiering in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, he was to have a southern accent and only last season two but he quickly became a fan favorite and all thanks to James Marsters, who is not really British but a Californian boy. When Buffy ended, his character was sent to Angel, where he has appeared in both Buffy and Angel comic books. He has had his own comics as well.

Spike TV
I forgot what it used to be called but it was decided in the early 2000's that they'd change the name to Spike and there was a huge copyright thingy about the name.

Spike of Rugrats
Tommy Pickles' pet dog was named Spike, a mutt with two or three grey spots, he was loyal and mischievous.

Spike of Tom & Jerry
In the old MGM shorts, Spike was the name of the dog was often was the thirdwheel of the exploits of a cat and mouse named Tom and Jerry. Sometimes he had a son too.

Spike Spiegel
In Cowboy Bebop (1998 anime), Spike was the protagonist and bounty hunter, a classic badboy with a broken heart for the wrong chick at the wrong time.

Spike Lee
Famous Director, Malcolm X, He Got Game and Do The Right Thing.

Spike Jonze
Famous filmmaker (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, Where's The Wild Things Are) who started out doing music videos.

Spike of Land Before Time
I totally forgot! My childhood! Oh, Spike, you barely talked in the movies, that had mostly sequels.

Spike in Dinosaurs
For those that don't know, in the ABC series produced by Jim Henson company, there were anamorphic Dinosaurs. Spike was the bully and then friend of Robbie Sincliar.

Spike of My Little Pony
Oh my god! I forgot from my childhood too! Cute little spike, the only male in the female series My Little Pony. He's a little dragon by the way.

Spike
Snoopy's cousin from the Peanuts, he had a TV special as well.

Gokai Silver Pictures May 2011

UPDATED 5/24/11 3PM EST

Gorjyujin

GokaiSilver Gold Mode

Gai saves a girl's life from a car accident, but was hurt. He then meets AbareKiller (the real actor Koutaro Tanaka as Mikoto), DragonRanger, and TimeFire in his dream. The 3 previous 6th rangers approved his heroic action and sees Gai as a worthy candidate for the new 6th ranger, they then pass GokaiCelluar and Ranger Keys to him.

This is after the keys are taken back from Basco. This probably takes place in Episode 17. And by the way, Shurikenger is also another dead sixth ranger, they probably didn't include him because he is a repeat color. And yes, I know those three colors were Tommy's as well, interesting coincidence.

Timeranger's power = Gozyuujin's Drill Spaceship mode
Zyuuranger's power = Gozyuujin's T-rex mode
Abaranger's power = Gozyuujin's robot mode

Doesn't the bird drill by itself look like the Lifebird from GoGoV (Rescue Bird from Lightspeed Rescue)?

more info for the following episodes

Ep 16 Clash! Sentai VS Sentai
Basco demands Marvelous to hand over the Ranger Keys, GokaiGalleon and Navi as a ransom for the release of Joe and the others

Ep 17
Navi tells the crew to "search for an awesome man in silver".
The group went out into the streets to search and sees a young man approaching.
Although Marvelous becomes suspicious of the man's weird behaviour, he ends up ignoring him.
Zangyack appears, and the Gokaigers fight against Action Commander Armageddon

There will be a one week break (June 19), after ep 17.

GokaiSilver is rumored for 18, Abaranger tribute and 20 is rumored to be the Hurricanger tribute.

Preview to Episode 15 of Gokaiger isn't the Sixth

UPDATED 5/22/11 6:30 PM EST
I thought he was the sixth ranger but turns out he is Basco.
We got Episode 15 preview with Basco (not GokaiSilver) that summons five Sixth Rangers.

Aka Red also seems to be on the ship (probably a flashback judging by one pick of Marvelous and Basco eating).

Gai has a monkey friend, interesting.

Yeah its not Bairzog/Sid becoming good like I once thought.

Bosco, Basco defected to Zangyack and betrayed the Red Pirates. I am against people saying people look 'gay' or 'effeminate' but I got to admit I thought he was a woman at first glance. Please don't make anti-gay remarks.

He seems to have a gold Mobirates.

Pictures from http://www.toei.co.jp/tv/

Basco Ta Jolokia is a man who was member of the Red Pirates together with Marvelous. The pirate crew was eventually destroyed by Zangyack and Basco seems to have been behind this. "In order to gain something, you have to sacrifice something"
Zangyack sees him as a special pirate and he travels with his ship, Free Joker.
His parter, Sari the space monkey, moves quickly and attacks with two cymbals.
When Bassco puts Ranger Keys into his trumpet, he can materialize Rangers.
They become puppets and moves as they've been told.

Rikkidoroid, Basco's giant weapon.
The blue version is called "Wateru-kun".
They appear from Sari's chest.

Official 199 Heroes List

I'm currently sick (a virus) so can't do much maintenance.

I put these mini Ranger pics for the leaders and the 10 Extra Heroes. If there was an extra hero, I put their picture, I chose not to put sixth heroes in order not to get confused with the extra heroes. 172 regular Rangers from the 35 teams, 15 Sixth Rangers = 188 who were in the Legend War and 10 Extra Heroes (Signalman, BullBlack, DekaMaster, DekaSwan, Wolzard Fire, MagiMother, Zuuban, Rio, Mele, and Shinken Red Karou), Aka Red and the 199th --- ?????. Even though I believed Gokai Silver was to be 200th, it seems that the 199th might be Gokai Silver because it is rumored he will cameo in the 199 heroes movie.

We are at episode 14 and there has only been six 'tribute episodes' (Magi, Deka, Geki, Gao, Shinken and Car), leaving 28 more teams to be covered and if this year is 50 episodes, like only 8 'filler' episodes. Unless they decided to go 80 episodes and end in August of 2012 and start a new series at the same time as Kamen Rider does. If not, they would have to be doing back-to-back 'tribute' episodes.
