Power Ranger Exclusive Bikes

UPDATED JUNE 18, 2009 10:03AM EST
Battle Bikes (MMPR)
It all started with the Battle Bikes, there were three. They were the first toy that did not appear on the show. It was the only item not to appear on the show out of the first season toyline. The toys came with a male Ranger figure and side-car but no female figure to go in the side-car.

Road Saurer 1, Side Saurer 2, Side Saurer 3 (MMPR)
In Mighty Morphin Power Rangers book Vol. 2 The Zords vs. The Monster Squad, the Battle Bikes appeared and for me, it was not surprising. I knew they existed. I remember seeing the episode "Calamity Kimberly" and they appeared briefly when the Rangers called their zords. Supposedly the rumor as to why they didn't appear on the show was because there was not enough footage of the Zyuranger in the suits in the bikes. In Zyuranger, the Red one was called the Road Saurer 1, and the Black one was Side Saurer 2, and Blue is Side Saurer 3.

Thunder Bikes (MMPR)
In Season Two of the Power Rangers toy line, the Thunder Bikes came out. I personally still have the Red, Pink and Black ones. The reason they didn't appear on the show was because the footage included the Dairanger and there was a Green bike and not black. So Bandai America changed them around, they made the Green into black, made the horns into crystals, changed the Dairanger symbols into the Dino coin symbols and added the Power Ranger figures.

Kiber Machines (Dairanger)
The Kiber Machines were used by the Dairanger, I saw the whole series and the Blue one was seen in a couple episodes with the other bikes and was only once used by its owner alone in one episode. I like how on the Thunder Bike toys, they replaced the Dairanger symbol with the Power Ranger's Dinosaur symbol. Since the stickers of the toy were interchangeable, Pink went from 5 to 2, Blue from 3 to 5, and Green became Black and from 2 to 3.

Shark Cycles (MMPR)
In Season Three, the Power Rangers finally got motorcycles in the series. They got Shark Cycles. Now, the Shark Cycles were based on the cycles of the Kakuranger, who PR fans know as the Alien Ranger. The Red, Yellow, and Blue cycles came from Kakuranger without sidecars. White was based on the Red one (which is a Great White Shark), Pink was based on the Yellow one (which is a Sawshark), and Black was based on the Blue one (which is a Hammerhead Shark).

Shark Bleeder, Shark Slider, Shark Launcher (Kakuranger)
Red
was called the Shark Bleeder, Yellow is the Shark Slider, and Blue was the Shark Launcher. Ninja White in Blue's sidecar and Ninja Black in Yellow's sidecar, sort of a reverse of Tigerranger and Mammothranger of Zyuranger. Of course, the reason we didn't see the Alien Rangers use these is because the main Power Rangers already used their similar Power Rangers.

Okay so the Zeo Rangers got the Ohranger bikes, the Turbo Rangers got the Carranger carts, the Space Rangers had those surfboards (Silver had a bike), and...

Jet Jammers (Lost Galaxy)
They had no Japanese counterpart, the Gingaman only had horses and the Red one had Galeo Pulsar, which was called the Red Capsular Cycle in Power Rangers, more on that later.

Astro Cycles (Lost Galaxy)
These were also exclusively to Power Rangers and this was the first time that the female Rangers were not included. In the toy line, the Magna Defender had one and the pieces on the bike would make armor for the Rangers. In Lost Galaxy, the Red Ranger's Astro Cycle would become his Capsular Cycle. I thought the Astro Cycles useless because they spent most of their time in space.

Lightspeed Cycles (Lightspeed Rescue)
Each of the five Lightspeed Rescue Rangers had motorcyles. In the toy line, the Titanium Ranger had one but not the Yellow Ranger. The Yellow Ranger got a sidecar that was sold separately, Blue, Green, and Red also had sidecars.

Rescue Bike Command Attacker (Go Go V)
The Lightspeed Cycles were based on the Rescue Bike Command Attacker, of which was only one and red. The sidecar appeared in Lightspeed Rescue as well, but I don't think no original American footage was made of it.

Vector Cycles (Time Force)
These were the second motorcycles that were not based on Super Sentai motorcycles. I like these Vector Cycles. The Quatum Ranger had one in the toy line. The Red Ranger got a second cycle, the Strata Cycle.

Strata Cycle (Time Force)
Wes got a second cycle. In the toys, the other male Rangers got one too.

Savage Cycles (Wild Force)
The Savage Cycles were based in the Wolf Roader of Gaoranger, with the animal motifs. The Red Ranger also got a second cycle. This is the last time in Power Ranger history that two females got a bike. The Red Ranger in this series also got a second cycle, he was the third to ever do so. As for their source Gaoranger, the Gaoranger has no cycles and no transportation what-so-ever other than their floating turtle rock.

Wild Rider (Wild Force)
Cole got a second motorcycle.

Wolf Roader (Gaoranger)
The Wolf Roader did appear in Wild Force, making it the first time there were six similar cycles.

Tsunami Cycles (Ninja Storm)
These three bikes were not in Ninpuu Sentai Hurricanger, they are based on the Bari Thunders. In the toy line, the Green Ranger also got one. One of these bikes were later remodeled for Emperor Grumm of SPD.

Bari Thunders (Hurricanger)
The Bari Thunders were the only cycles in the series Ninpuu Sentai Hurricanger. They of course appeared in Ninja Storm.

Raptor Cycles (Dino Thunder)
They were not based on anything from Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger. I think of them as useless since they had the Road Raptors anyway, which were the main transport of the Abarangers. In the toyline, White, Black and Triassic got one too. The Yellow Raptor Cycle is the LAST Ranger motorcycle that a female Ranger got. Sure, Summer of RPM has a motorcyle but its not one that was a toy and it is not ranger-color.

Patrol Cycles (SPD)
This is the first time there were only 2 cycles instead of 5. In the toy line, only the Red, Green, Blue, and Shadow Rangers had Patrol Cycles. The Blue Ranger had the cycle (Machine Husky) from Dekaranger. They also had a cruiser, which was used by Tommy in Dino Thunder and later for Operation Overdrive. I think the reason there were only 2 was because they had to have budget space for the Shadow ATV.

Machine Doberman, Machine Husky, Machine Bull (Dekaranger)
The Red and Yellow Rangers shared the Machine Doberman, later on Break and Yellow shared it. Green and Pink shared the Machine Bull. The reason they were not prominently seen in SPD, because the cars had the wheels to the right side because they are Japanese cars. They were seen in some shots.
This picture was scanned by me.

Mystic Speeder (Mystic Force)
The Red, Yellow, and Green Ranger had this bike in the toy line, but only one appeared on the show. This was the first time there was only one motorcycle and no other Ranger had a bike. This was continued on. I think it was because of budget.

HoverTek Cycle (Operation Overdrive)
While all the male Rangers got HoverTek Cycles in the toy line, only the Black Ranger got one in the show. The Boukengers mode of transportation were their GoGo Vehicles (zords).
Note: This pic was scanned by my site partner Mike Bastian.

Strike Rider (Jungle Fury)
In the toys, all the male Rangers got bikes, but there was only one bike in the whole series. The Gekiranger's main mode of transportation were their GekiBeasts (zords).

I think the other reason for the Raptor Cycles in Dino Thunder was that they had more artillery than the Raptor Riders. I always said that the Raptor Cycles were like tanks of the Ranger Bikes.

And as for the Strike Rider, It looks to me like a cross between the Red Capsular Cycle of Lost Galaxy and the Transarmor Cycle of Lightspeed Rescue.
