Where You Get Your Pictures?!

For years (for my site and such), many people have been asking me where I get my pictures from.

In Japan, many books and magazines are released covering many current Tokusatsu series. The most popular being Terebikun, a monthly magazine published by Shogakukan. Other popular magazines included New Type The Live and Hyper Hobby, covering toys and products. These magazines usually cover new and upcoming characters, weapons or villains. The majority have half of the pages in glossy colors and the other half in black and white or bi-colored pages. For example, a special photographer goes to the set to shoot pictures of the newest addition to the show.

Most of the time when a series ends, they do a book covering the whole series with the infamous sideviews and such. The Go-Onger one came out in May. There is also history books that include all the Sentai series up to the current one, most of the time 4 or 6 pages covering each one. You can imagine with 32 series, it would be a heavy book.

And people also wonder where I get my Power Ranger pics with Kanji (Japanese characters) and what happens is that Japanese magazines are the first to reveal Power Rangers spoilers. Every year they show off the Battlizer and new stuff before it airs. That's how we found about Thrax (it was mentioned about Zedd and Rita having a child, but no picture) before "Once a Ranger" aired. In 2007, a annual book with all sentai since Boukenger came out with Power Ranger pictures too, detaling since MMPR including the two movies.

Also, for supersentai.com, I get pictures from the official websites in Japanese like Toei.co.jp (the Toei company that produces the shows), Tv-Ashai (the TV channel that broadcasts it), and Super-sentai.net (official).
