Unused Monsters from Super Sentai on Power Rangers #1 -- Saban Era

Suggested by Brian Dean, I compiled monsters that were in Super Sentai but not used for Power Rangers. I had compiled this list before back when in 2001 on my site when it was the Sentai Time Capsule but I had to remove it when we changed format. I do not know the real reason why any of these were used. Next I will be doing monsters that appeared on the show but only in background and got no closeup.

Dairanger / MMPR Season 2
Boss Kamikaze and Teacher Telephone
The gravestone was used for the Halloween episode but the three of these guys were the 3 idiots from Dairanger. They fought the Dairenoh (thunder megazord) twice but never died.

Bird Cage Vagabond
He had a vulture inside him and captured people and had a peg leg until he got his golden leg back. I guess he wasn't used because of time.

Zilong and Jiaxu
I used another picture of them but originally they were red and green. They are actually the armors of two human warriors. Probably not used because there wasn't enough footage of them in armor or too much fighting Dairanger.

Duke of Trumps
Appeared in the movie, his conglomerate form appeared in a picture book of MMPR, which always made me wondered why we never saw that monster. An insider told me Saban and Disney had to pay extra for the Movie footage so sometimes they didn't.

Kakuranger/MMPR season 3
Bakeneko

Dorotabou

Konakijijii

Sunakake Babaa
Obvious why this one was not used, by her breasts.

Kamaitachi

Karakasa -- parts of it did get used for another monster
Yuki-Onna

Zashiki-warashi
The Bratboy's first form.

Ohranger/Zeo
Keris
Field commander who rules Machine Beasts with whip and has a human disguise and appeared in 3 episodes, probably not used because her outfit sort of looks like an S&M whipper. parts of it did get used for another monster

Bara Brain
His footage mostly dealt with the Ohranger out of uniform, probably why not used. Also most of the footage was him as a ball.

Bara Police
Parts of him were used for Electrotramp for Power Rangers in Space/Ninja Turtle team-up episode "Shell Shocked."

Carranger / Turbo
VV Goriin
DD Donmo
HH Wasshoishoi
II Goki-Chan
Norishiron Extra/Final
Final was not used, Extra (above) was from the teamup with Ohranger.
Goki-Chan
Got the name Rockin' Roach.
SS Sutatanzo
Appeared in the Carranger vs. Ohranger teamup.

Megaranger / in Space
Neo Bat Nejire
Rose Nejire
Canary Nejilar
Porcupine Nejilar
Illusionary Nejilar
Helmedor (Mega vs. Car)
Crab Nejilar (Mega vs. Car)

Gingaman / Lost Galaxy
Rigurou
Amehoshi
Gaaragaara -- most likely not used because of the Hindu infulence, but according to Grnrngr.com, the costume might have appeared in the background.
Bammers
Bazooga
Gregory (Ginga vs. Mega)

Daitanikusu II

Girumanikusu

GoGoV/Lightspeed Rescue
Jeeruda -- parts of it did get used for another monster
DeathmimeBuroogen
Hirugemuuja
Bahamuu
Big Douser
Garubaria

Golomois Giant Form

Beast Demon King Golomois

Timeranger/Time Force
Reihou
Vincent
Zektar
Banjan
Harbal

Boribar--parts of him was used for something else. His other form Pierre Bori was used for Quarganon.

Gaoranger/Wild Force
Copy Org
Glasses Org
Human Body Speciman Org
Vase Org
Charcoal Grill Org
Blacksmith Org

Christmas Org
New Year's Org

Rakushaasa (Gao vs. SS teamup)

Zeus Org (Movie)
Hades Org
Poseidon Org

Rita Repulsa Figure a Possibility

This was posted over on Bandai's facebook:

"MMPR (toyline) needs to do well and it's a very strong possibility."

And a fan got this response from Bandai.com:
Bandai America appreciates your interest in the 2010 Mighty Morphin Power Rangers!

A Rita Repulsa figure was not released for the Spring 2010 release of figures but there will also be a Fall 2010 assortment of figures so we will keep the requests for this figure in mind.

Stay posted to the Products or Bandai News sections of www.bandai.com during the course of the year for any possible updates.

Facebook fans–I just read this week's Customer Service Reports. Great job pressing for a Rita figure! Keep 'em coming :D

The writer of Bandai America is one person, most likely a guy and he is also a Power Rangers fan, not sure of his name or how he was hired:

My Dream Cast - Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Reboot

UPDATED 8/26/14
In 2014, Saban Brands announced there will be a reboot movie in 2016. Then Brennan Mejia who I chose for Red was chosen for Power Rangers Dino Charge as Red Ranger!!!

A reboot of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is not official, we don't know if it will happen. But I think it's fun to think about it who to cast for a film. Now, let's hypothesize that this hypothetical film would have the original characters (Jason, Kim, Billy, Zack and Trini) just played by other actors. Like a re-imagining much like Star Trek, Transformers and Nightmare on Elm Street got. Now, I have not attempted this dream casting before because I didn't think there would be any young actors that would fit the bill. I try picking people that are kinda known but not super popular like the High School Musical Crowd. Feel free to add your picks for actors on the comments, but please don't insult anybody.

Emma Roberts
"Kimberly" / Pink Ranger
Emma is best known for "Unfabulous" and Aquamarine and for being Eric Roberts' daughter. She looks a bit like Amy Jo Johnson but not completely. I think she could handle being a valley girl gymnast.
I put 'kimberly' in quotations because if they really make a reboot film, it could be a new character, a character like Kimberly or Kimberly character.

Brennan Mejia
"Jason" / Red Ranger
Brennan is still up and coming, doing bit parts in "iCarly" and being in a New Moon spoof. Yes, I know what you guys are thinking, he doesn't look like Austin St. John as he is Mexican-American, but he is really good at martial arts. And I am not picking him because he is Hispanic and I am Hispanic. -- Maybe to add some more ethnicity to the group.

Tequan Richmond
"Zack" / Black Ranger
Tequan is best known as the younger brother in "Everybody Hates Chris." I think Tequan would be the right choice for Zack. He is a good dancer and a charmer. Now, it can be hypothesized that whoever does a remake might choose not to have the Yellow ranger be Asian and the Black ranger be African-American, but if they do use the original characters then they would have to, I suppose.

Jenna Ushkowitz
"Trini" / Yellow Ranger
It was hard to find a young Asian actress that was not Brenda Song. Jenna is best known now as Tina on "Glee." Jenna is a little older than the other actors I picked. The original show had actors that were in their twenties. Jenna is 23 years old, not that old. Thuy Trang was 20 when she played Trini. If they make the Yellow Ranger African-American and kept the other character traits for Red, Blue and Pink, then I think fans wouldn't be pleased. A 'jason,' 'kimberly,' 'billy,' 'aisha,' and 'adam' thing would be interesting.

Joseph Cross
"Billy" / Blue Ranger
Joseph Cross is best known for Running with Scissors and other movies. I thought it was hard to find a Trini but it was hard to find a Billy! Joseph has done more films than the other actors I picked, but out of all the actors who mostly play geeks, nerds, etc., he seems to fit the bill the most. I added the glasses to the picture, even if they do make a remake of Billy and choose not to use glasses.

Steve Belford
"Tommy" / Green Ranger
Steve is a Canadian actor, best known for Degrassi: TNG. I know many people have another ideal to who Tommy should be or how he should look like. And that the actor has to have a background in Martial Arts. The actor I picked doesn't have a Martial Arts background, but I think he has the look and can play dark.

Poll Results: Who Would Win? Round #4

Kase vs. Miho
Kase was sent by Xaviax through a portal to Japan, where she fought against what she thought was someone who stole her Advent deck. Miho was a fierce warrior but Kase won 83 out of 129. Miho was left on the ground left to die.

Koragg vs. Wolzard
Kai's father beats up Nick's father, 99 out of 146 votes. Koragg was sent by the Master to fight against his equal and magically sent to fight Wolzard, who had no mercy.

MMPR Season 1 vs. PGSM
You guys voted that 143 out of 163 that the first MMPR crew would beat up the butts of the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon team. I highly disagree with this. The six lethal ladies would be able to lay waste to the six amateurs. Come on, Jason, Zack, Billy and Tommy wouldn't be able to concentrate with those long legs and short skirts. Kimberly would pound Tommy to dust for staring and Trini would feel bad for fighting a cat (Sailor Luna--not pictured).
