Power Rangers/Super Sentai Villain Comparison: Lost Galaxy / Gingaman

Power Rangers Lost Galaxy [1999] / Seijyu Sentai Gingaman (Star-Beast Team Milky Way Man) [1998]

The villains of Gingaman were pirates, who take over the land of the Gingaman. They are all together, while the villains of "Lost Galaxy" were separate. Trakeena, Treacheron, Villamax, Kegler, and Deviot for sometime were part of Scorpius' army. Scorpius was an American-made villain, no relation tot he source. While Captain Mutiny, Barbarax, and Hexuba were pirates together, footage was used.

Trakeena / Shelinda
Well, Shelinda's outfit was way too revealing for Saban to use, so they made a whole new outfit for Trakeena, bug-inspired and she got much more buggy as the series continued. Trakeena was the princess daughter of Scorpius, the American-made villain. She didn't want to go into a cocoon he wanted her to go in but later did so and came back in the next season---Lightspeed Rescue, wanting to be 'green' again. When her father was destroyed, she blamed the Red Ranger. Shelinda had a vendetta against Ginga Green, she was not above using her sexiness. She had a relationship with Budou and doubled crossed Captain Zahab.

Villamax / Sanbasshu
Trakeena met Villamax at the Onyx Tavern, he saved her from being attacked by a few patrons. He then trained her to become a powerful and skilled warrior, worthy of being her father's successor. Villamax is an honorable warrior who keeps his word, and loyally serves and protects his princess. When Trakeena absorbed Deviot, she was changed, and Villamax was destroyed when he defied her. Sanbasshu was much different, a run-of-the-mill villain, he grew huge and was destroyed by the Gingaman. He was part of Captain Zahab's gang.

Kegler / Pukuratesu
Pukuratesu loved Iriesu (Hexuba) and he helped her arrange Budou (Treacheron)'s death. When she died and he began to go mad. He barely escaped with his own life, and hatched a plot to destroy Captain Zaihabu, eventually he stole Gotaurus to force Hyuuga to work for him. Kegler was Villamax's old and worry-wort waddling sidekick. He was last known to be on the Scorpion Stinger when it crashed on one of Mirinoi's moons.

Deviot / Prince Bezunera
Deviot is a power hungry traitor, who serves only his own needs. He offered his services as Scorpius' general, but used the position to set up Scorpius' death and try to take the power of his cocoon. When Trakeena returned, he served under her, and unsuccessfully tried to get her killed. When Deviot recited a chant from a powerful book, he transported everyone into the Lost Galaxy, where he hooked up with Captain Mutiny and his crew. The power of the Galaxy Book deformed Deviot, but he regained his looks by draining a monster's power. Upon returning to the Scorpion Stinger, he merged with Trakeena by forcing her with him into the coccoon.

Prince Brazunera brought with him three starbeasts he had enslaved and mechanized. He had to return payment to Captain Zahab when the Starbeasts went back to Gingaman's side. He hired as consultant by Battobasu (Barbarax). He ended up falling into a vat in a struggle with Gingaman and mutating into a monster form and was killed.

Captain Mutiny / Captain Zahab
Captain Zahab was the main villain of Gingaman, but Captain Mutiny came late in the series, as the Rangers entered the Lost Galaxy. Zahab lost his hand to original GingaRed, he was destroyed in the finale. Mutiny was destroyed by Trakeena when he escaped the lost galaxy to conquer normal space.

The other characters were basically the same, or not much to say. For those fans, Scorpius was American-made and Furio was from Megaranger.

Power Rangers/Super Sentai Villain Comparison: Space/Megaranger

Power Rangers In Space (1998) / Denji (Electromagnetic) Sentai Megaranger (1997)

Astronema / Shibolena
Shibolena was a robot created in the image of the daughter of Dr. Hinelar, one of the baddies, but he was not transferred into Power Rangers. Astronema was the villianess, formerly Karone--the sister of Andros. Astronema was lied to her whole life, I guess Shibolena too a bit. Shibolena was killed near the finale by MegaRed while protecting Yugande. Astronema came around to Andros, but was brainwashed to be evil, and eventually became good once again.

Dark Specter / Javious the First
Dark Specter got together all the baddies from the past seasons and looked like Divatox's fiance. Javious the First was a mysterious main villain that was rarely seen. Javious was connected to the Nejiranger (Psycho Rangers) without him knowing and when they were destroyed by the Megaranger, it killed him. The Pyscho Rangers were connected to him but it didn't kill him. He was destroyed when one of his minions-Darkonda struck into him.

Ecliptor / Yugande
Yugande and Ecliptor cared much about their female charges. Yugande was destroyed for many times and one last time when he was in his red form Super Yugande. He didn't questioned Hinelar. Ecliptor did redeem himself, caring for Astronema but was turned evil and destroyed by Zordon's wave.

Darkonda/Guirali
Darkonda and Guirali were both self-centered and didn't stop to nothing to get their way. They were wicked and cruel. He kidnapped Karone when she was a child. He had multiple lives but had one last one, which he used to destroy Dark Specter. Guirali sing children as human shields to prevent the Megarangers from fighting back. He was destroyed mid-way through the series by the Megaranger.

Power Rangers/Super Sentai Villain Comparison: Turbo/Carranger

Power Rangers Turbo (1997) / Gekisou (Car Racing) Sentai Car Ranger (1996)

Instead of goofy space invaders, we get space pirates in a subcraft that spent most of the time under the water on the Earth.

Divatox/Zonnette
Zonnette showed too much boobage (cleavage) so Saban decided not to use much of the footage and film their own footage for the baddies--thank god they enough money to do. Divatox first premiered in the movie Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie. She wanted to marry a lava-monster, then just set off bombs on the Earth and destroy the Rangers. She was wicked, fretted a lot, loved a good joke and was sarcastic. Zonnette was sexy, flirty and had a crush on Red Racer. She also had a sister and then turned into a good princess who had to marry. Divatox was hinted to be the twin sister of Dimitria, Zordon's replacement and was turned good by Power Rangers in Space.

Rygog / Gynamo
Gynamo was the leader of the baddies, he could quickly get flustered and was dense. He also scrambled for ideas but sometimes he was strong. Rygog was just second-in-command, followed what Divatox told him to do. Gnamo went on to open his own restaurant.

Elgar / Zelmoda
As you can tell, Zelmoda had a much more creepy face. we would occasionally see this face in the footage but not much as the one to the left. Elgar was obnoxious and had a big sense of humor, he was Divatox's nephew, he was responsible for turning Bulk and Skull into monkeys. he for some reason, re-appeared in Power Rangers in Space, where he was destroyed by Zedd's wave. Zelmoda was less annoying but he was just as dense, he was also cruel. He went on to go to elementary school.

Porto / Grotch
Porto did not appear in the movie but did for the rest of the series, he was like Finster, in that he invented stuff and sent monsters. Grotch once grew big but shrank back to regular size. Porto and Grotch were both scaredy cats but Porto just stayed in the sidelines, while Grotch was a bit more wicked. Grotch went on to attend elementary school.

Ritchihiker/RitchRitchihiker / General Havoc
Ritchihiker was hired by Gynamo to destroy Carrangers and was struck by lightning, he gained this gold form. He kicked out Gynamo and Zonette and assumed command of the Bowzock. He was destroyed in a robot he created that the Carranger destroyed. General Havoc on the other hand was Divatox's brother, and also captured their Megazord, and used it against the Rangers, powered by the Phantom Ranger's ruby. In Power Rangers in Space, where he was destroyed by Zedd's wave.

Exhaus/Exhaus Super-Strong / Goldgoyle
Exhaus was the big boss of the baddies. He used them and was cruel. His Super-strong from above was used as a monster called Goldgoyle in Turbo.

Power Rangers/Super Sentai Villain Comparison: Zeo/Ohranger

Power Rangers Zeo (1996) / Choriki Sentai Ohranger (Super Power Task Force Overtech Hardware Rangers) [1995]

King Mondo / Bacchus-rage
Both leaders of their machine army, Bacchus died earlier on, King Mondo could be rebuilt over and over again. He was ultimately destroyed in you guess it, Power Rangers In Space.

Hysteria / Queen Machina
Both had their husbands and son, but Hysteria had to see her husband and son be destroyed, she scaraficed herself (committing suicide) to protect her grandson at the finale.

Prince Sprocket / Buldont
Both were evil child-like sons to the king and queen. Sprocket had to deal with Louie Kaboom taking over and sibling rivalry with his old brother Prince Sprocket. Buldont had rivalry with his father most of all. He was killed by Bomber the great but he was rebuilt.

Klank and Orbus / Acha and Kocha
They were all servants. Klank/Acha swung Orbus/Kocha to grow the monsters. Klank had a Scottish accent. Acha and Kocha went on to raise Kaiser Buldont's son.

Louie Kaboom / Bomber the Great
Rita and Zedd made Louie to take over the Machine Empire, which he did but he didn't follow Zedd and Rita. He took over after Mondo was out for a while. He spoke with a thick Brooklyn accent. Bomber the Great came after Bacchus-Wrath was dead, he was exiled for trying to take over before. He also tried to get Hysteria's affections, and he destroyed Buldont. He was de-throned when Kaiser Buldont returned, went to fight the Ohranger and sent into space by Gunmajin (Auric).

Prince Gasket / Kaiser Buldont
Buldont was destroyed and then rebuilt. He came back older and with a wife. He was destroyed with his wife by the Ohranger. Prince Gasket came along after Louie and fled to their home planet when Mondo returned. He was never seen again. Basically, Gasket and Sprocket were different characters, while Buldont was the same guy.

Archerina / Princess Multiwa
Probably because they are robots and not flesh, she married her cousin Kaiser Buldont after aiding him in getting rid of Bomber the great with her arrows of love. She had a son named Buldont Jr. and she was destroyed with her husband. Archerina was already married with Prince Gasket when she arrived in the scene. She and her husband fled and were never heard of again.

Power Rangers/Super Sentai Villain Comparison: MMPR/Kakuranger

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 3 [1996] / Ninja Sentai Kaku Ranger (Ninja Squadron Hidden Rangers) [1994]

Rito Repulso / Gasha Skull
Gasha takes on the guise of Young Noble Junior, a bleached blonde leather punk with a guitar. He was killed mid-way in the series. Rito was incorporated into the Rita mythology as Rita and Zedd were still the head villains. Rito was Rita's obnoxious brother who hilariously called Zedd 'ed.' He became more of comic relief, along with Goldar. He was presumed to be destroyed but never seen again.

Master Vile / Daimaou
Daimaou, like Master Vile is Rito/Gasha Skull's father. Gasha had to revive his father, while Vile just arrived to Rita/Zedd's palace. They were both evil and serious, only difference Daimaou actually sacrificed his son. Both had no mention of a mother. Daimaou was ultimately sealed by the Kakuranger, while Master Vile went back home and was received Rita and her clan at his home when Machine Empire attacked. He was destroyed by Zordon's wave by the end of Power Rangers in Space.

Power Rangers/Super Sentai Villain Comparison: MMPR/Zyuranger

In the spirit of comparing the good guys as they were converted from Japanese to American, I decided to cover the baddies.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (1993) and Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger - 1992 (Zyu is pronounced 'Juu', it means 'Beast').

Rita Replusa / Bandora
Ahh, the infamous Rita Replusa. By using the original Japanese footage, we were served a woman whose voice didn't match her lips. After Season 1, this was not done again. We know the basic story of Rita: a evil witch who trapped Zordon in his big head state and was trapped in a 'space dumpster' on the 'moon' and then released. She kidnapped Tommy and made him evil. Once he became good, she made a candle from the time he was under her care. So, she stripped him from his powers as the candle decreased.

Bandora, on the other hand, was a peaceful queen living in age of the dinosaurs. Her mischievous son, who she loved dearly squished some dino eggs and in turn was killed by the dinosaur mother. Bandora swore revenge on the dinosaurs and allied herself with Satan and became a witch. She and her goons were imprisoned on the planet Nemesis by the Shogozyu (the zords) and when the planet came in the orbit close to the Earth, they were released. She allied and betrayed Burai. Bandora constructed a tower to summon Satan from hell. She had to gather thirteen children to be sacrificed. Satan was thwarted but when he returned, he brought her son back to life and they sunk the Shogozyus into the Earth. Eventually, she was defeated and placed in a bin once again and hurled through space.

That wasn't the end of Rita though, in season 2 all American footage was used as Lord Zedd took over and imprisoned her in the dumpster, hurling her into space. She came back and sent once again by the Rangers. The dumpster made its way back, but this time to the palace on the moon. Finster made her look young and restored her size, she married Zedd with a love potion. Once the potion wore off, she discovered he really did love her. Her brother Rito and father Master Vile came by season 3 and she was turned good at the end of Power Rangers in Space. By Mystic Force, it was discovered she was the Mystic Mother (same actress, different character in Magiranger).

Goldar / Grifforzer
Goldar started as Grifforzer, deadly and evil. Grifforzer went on to have a baby boy with his wife Lami, while Goldar betrayed Rita and became Lord Zedd's right hand man. For some reason, his wings were gone and not explained why but Zedd 'returned' them. Goldar became more of a comically lacky when Rito came along in Season 3 and he was killed by the Zordon wave in Power Rangers in Space.

Scorpina / Lami
Scorpina was also primarily Japanese footage in Season 1, only once she was played by an American actress in Season 2 but since Saban couldn't hold on to the actress, she magically 'disappeared' and was never heard of again. Lami was actually Grifforzer's wife. Both had a human form and a scorpion form when giant. Lami was deadly and playful, also was a master of disguises. Scorpina appeared in the episode where Lord Zedd arrived--via footage of when Bandora was captured at the end of Zyuranger--but then disappeared since they didn't have an actress yet. Lami had a human-like child that was captured along with all of them.

UPDATED 11/22/09 7:30 PM EST
Lokar / Dai Satan
I can't believe I forgot about this guy! Okay, this guy was a major Difference. Lokar was a big head in the sky that Rita would call upon for help to power up her monsters. He is compared to fans as a opposite of Zordon. In Zyuranger, he had nothing to do with Zordon as Zordon wasn't in the show and his counterpart Burai was not a big head. Anyway, Dai Satan was a devil, Bandora worshiped him and turned to the dark side when her son died. He was destroyed, where Lokar just ran away and never seen again.

Cyclopsis / Dora Tolas
While it is Goldar's zord in Power Rangers (footage of him in the cockpit was American-made), it was a robot for Bandora's son Kai to pilot with two hypnotized children. In Zyuranger, Kai was killed by a dinosaur and drove Bandora to evil. Kai was resurrected near finale. Originally when MMPR was to end with "Doomsday part 1 & 2," Kai was to be adapted into Rita' son Bubba but that was discarded.

There was not much difference between Baboo/Tottobatto , Squatt/Bukkubakku, and Finster/Puripurikan, only that Tottobatto was a vampire.
