David Yost shares his experience

TMZ put this report out, but No Pink Spandex did the Interview
No Pink Spandex Interview Part 2
Interview Part 1

Recently I put a poll about which inside information fans would like to know about Power Rangers and one fan asked me why I didn't put why Billy quit. Well, basically because of this interview. David Yost, who now been producing and was in the development department of Syfy channel. I had my suspicions a few years back when he attended a pro-gay theater event and participated in the No Prop 8 campaign. As a gay fan, I am glad he has spoken out about injustice and homophobia. I am sadden that the production crew treated him so poorly and that it put him in depression. Mr. Yost says that the production crew continued to prod about his sexuality and utter anti-gay slurs. That is the real reason he quit and I think it is a valid one. As I said before it is utterly sad this occurred but I applaud him for having the guts to be true to who he is. He is indeed a role model for me, even if he may not want to be one (I'm not saying he doesn't but in case).

Interestingly enough, a lot of people who worked with him on the show say differently, that Yost was just an incredibly unpleasant person and that he quit because he wanted more money even though he wasn't a star anymore.

There apparently exists behind-the-scenes footage of him accosting Jason David Frank and demanding that Frank fight him (JDF blew it off)

Mr. Nurgle, he said he was still struggling with his sexuality at the time. From my experience, being in the closet and struggling with your feelings, you feel like the world is against you and like you are keeping this horrible secret, so sometimes people act out of turn. So I don't put it against him if he acted a bit like a drama queen.

Again, I know a guy who went to college with David.

And I always thought that at least half of the male rangers were gay, or at least bi... I'm surprised they're making such a big deal of this.

Luca, it's not that he's gay but the brutality. Homophobia is a horrible experience to be on the side of.

I think Nickelodeon will put a stop of any gay slurs on the set from now on. They had openly gay people come and star or host shows on Nickelodeon.

i still say its a mixture of the two the fact that his role was bring decreased and slowly being fazed out and the fact that he was being harassed i dont know maybe one started another him being upset around the set and being insulted or being insulted and them him leaving but either way i wish he would stay
