Villains Week: Sixth Ranger Bring Villain

 

I noticed a pattern. Sometimes when a sixth ranger arrives, a new villain does.

Lunar Wolf/Zenaku  /// Gao Silver/Loki

Of course they were connected, an ancient warrior cursed with a mask to become a wolf demon. The Rangers saved him, and both heroes kept themselves away from our heroes.

Shurikenger/Satarakura

 In Hurricanger only, when Shurikenger came in, a new villain Satarakura had as well. In Ninja Storm, Satarakura's counterpart Shimazu came way after Green Samurai Ranger was introduced.

Omega Ranger/Morgana
When the Omega Ranger arrived, Mora had been changed to Morgana. She brought along other monsters but she stuck around unlike her Dekaranger counterpart.

Solaris Knight/Imperius /// MagiShine/Meemy
In Mahou Sentai Magiranger, when Nai and Mere push the Magiranger into a cave, they release Hikaru the frog and Memmy. They fought long ago. Same thing in Mystic Force. But Imperius tried tricking Udonna in his old form.

Mercury Ranger/Fearcats /// BoukenSilver/Questers
In Boukenger, Eiji chased the Ashu Tribe, him being half Ashu. They were then turned into Questers by Gahja. In Operation Overdrive, the aliens Fearcats terrorized Tyzonn and they were upgraded by Flurious.

Go-On Wings/Hiramechimedes

 Well this kind of happened in RPM too as Venjix got a new suit that was Hiramechimedes in Go-Onger but it wasn't a new villain or character. In Go-Onger when Hiramechimedes came along, so did Go-On Wings.

Robo Knight/Mutants /// Gosei Knight/Yuumajuu

 When the Yuumajuu and Mutants appeared, Robo Knight/Gosei Knight did too.

Villains Week: Actors that played Good and Bad

 

I have commented on actors who played different roles but here are villains or lackies that the actors also played good guys, allies or mentors.

 

Dimitria/Divatox
Carol Hoyt portrayed the Turbo Ranger's mentor Dimitria and Divatox for the first half of Turbo. When Hilary Turner returned, she remained as Dimitria for Turbo.

Sensei/Lothor
Grant McFarlane portrayed adult Sensei (as another actor played the twins at a younger age), provided the voice of Sensei as a guinea pig and Lothor.

Marah/Cassidy
Katrine Devine first portrayed Marah in Ninja Storm and then Cassidy in Dino Thunder, she portrayed both in the teamup episodes. 

 Mesogog/Anton Mercer
Latham Gaines portrayed Dr. Anton Mercer and put on the costume for Mesogog. I thought it was a suit actor but word is he did.

 Emperor Grumm/Mentor Jii

Rene Naufahu played Emperor Grumm in SPD (we saw his human form once played by himself) and later on played Mentor Jii in Samurai.

Holly Shanahan
Holly Shanahan played LeeLee in Mystic Force and Camile in Jungle Fury. Even though I consider LeeLee a molly-ambigious character, Camile was a villain and LeeLee did end up being good at the end. So I suppose she counts.

Villains Week: Lothor and his Actor

 

Grant McFarland not only portrayed Lothor but also the Sensei in Power Rangers Ninja Storm. He is from New Zealand. On PMC 4, Doug Sloan said that Grant McFarland was devastated that fans didn't like his character of Lothor, that fans found him too goofy. So when he returned for "Thunder Storm" in "Dino Thunder," he decided to portray the character darker. Doug Sloan did not think it was necessary. Some fans did notice and liked the darker tone. I think it would make sense since he was in the Abyss of Evil.

Villains Week: Villain Vehicles in Power Rangers

 

 

Rita's Bicycle 

Bandora in Zyuranger had a bike and it was carried on to Power Rangers but only in the first season. Baboo rode it once because of the footage. After they exhausted Zyuranger footage, Rita no longer rode it.

 

Lord Zedd's Serpentera (MMPR

In Dairanger, it was a god angry at the Dairanger and Gorma that they were causing such a racket so it intervened. In Power Rangers, it became Zedd's zord that would use a lot of energy source. It was later used to transport Zedd and his gang. Ultimately he remained buried on the Moon until it was destroyed by a small heavenly flying motorcycle.

 

Vypra's Vyprari (Lightspeed)

Modeled after the Silver Space Ranger's Galactic Rover, Vypra got this vehicle mostly to introduce the Lightspeed cycles and was used sparingly later on.

Emperor Grumm's Bike (SPD)

Grumm's bike was remolded from one of the Tsnuami Cycles of Ninja Storm.

Commanding Count Dregon (Saban's Masked Rider)

Came with Sword

Bandai also did a small collectible figure.

Vexor (Big Bad Beetleborgs)

The main villain of the first season of Big Bad Beetleborgs, one figure was made by Bandai.

 Evil Crustacean Nukus (Beetleborgs Metallix)

The main villain of the second season, it was also repackaged with some other figures in a set.

 Kilokahn (Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad)

Came with a variety of figures. The Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad line came from Playmates, who do Ninja Turtles

Grimlord (VR Troopers)

Apparently there was this bendy figure but I don't remember Grimlord being part dinosaur.

This is a prototype of a Grimlord figure that never came to be, it is also half dino/lizard.

Villains Week: Goldar Merchandise

 

I've covered Rita and Lord Zedd, I realized I haven't covered Goldar, probably because there is so much. More than Lord Zedd even.

Goldar came with no sword but very durable, I still have it and my nephew plays with it and barely any paint has pealed off.

Micro Machines (1993)

They had Goldar with Dragonzord and his height.

5.5" Sword Slashing Goldar (1994)

This figure came with a gold sword.

Also the Power Rangers Legends iPad game, where they use his voice!

 Power Punch Out Game

Megazord and Goldar were a punch robot game, they also had Lord Zedd and White Ranger.

 He was in endless merchandise like this board game above I used to have, he was also in those McDonalds pogs, endless trading cards, the spin Bandai things and in Nickelodeon.com games like Power Rangers Forever Red.
